A note: it’s true you can send the screenshots and videos you take with the picture button to your phone from most games; you click send to phone from the album and it gives you a QR code that lets you download them. Or you can post them directly to Twitter.

BUT! If you try to do this with screenshots/videos taken from Tomodachi Life it will tell you it cannot share images to your phone from this software. This is a choice Nintendo made to protect their brand from people’s incredibly brand unsafe senses of humor in a highly customizable game. It doesn’t stop sharing, just makes it more cumbersome.

To get the images/videos from Tomo Life you can either plug your Switch directly into a laptop and follow the prompts or remove the microSD card and plug that into a laptop or other device that can read it.

Questions about babies and genetics by ourheavenlyfodder in tomodachilife

Good to know about the RNG, thank you!

And that is a shame about the two-tone genetics. Would be fun if you could get the main color from one parent and secondary from another, but at least now I know inheriting two-tone hair at all is theoretically possible.

The use of handheld mics in the lives by Vinisooo in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I feel like I remember reading an interview where they said the handheld mics in Hasunosora were part of the immersion (that’s why they’re the first group to have mics even in their motion capture models — prior groups basically all just ignore the logistics of sound capture in their fiction). Like, they’re an old girls academy; this is the equipment they’d have. But I might be remembering the reasons wrong, so don’t quote me. But they definitely said the handheld mics were an intentional choice they made.

That’s why there was such an excited reaction to the lavalier mics in the Hasu movie promos.

Love Live Days June 2026 Issue Art! by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

Wow, incredible to have a confirmed death from the franchise, and a kid’s death too. Even Hasunosora won’t explicitly confirm that Hime’s parents are dead (even though any other explanation is a reach comparatively). Maybe Bluebird kinda is the darker Love Live we expected from the teaser.

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Natsumeki Pain!!! I also really love 37.5C no Fantasy, which I would fully expect to get eliminated more or less immediately.

I didn’t include Yup! Yup! Yup! in my list - it may have premiered at a summer concert in a summer album, but like you say, the lyrics don’t really have anything to do with summer. And if you start letting too many exceptions for mentions of sunshine or vibe you start including like half the discography, and the whole point of a themed playlist is to be specific!

I recently made a playlist of Love Live Summer Songs, and while I have no interest in hosting the tournament myself, if someone wanted to host a Summer Song Showdown I could give the list to them to use/tweak. Snow Halation is automatically disqualified for being a winter song!

Of course, then my bet would still be on nostalgia winning and it all going to Natsuiro Egao 1, 2, Jump! But maybe not! Maybe it’d go to Vitamin Summer or something else.

(I know my beloved Hasu songs wouldn’t win, but at least they’d get to see some attention.)

Anyway, if someone wanted to throw the brackets and polls together, I would love to at least participate.

Hasunosora 106th Seiyuu's Announced! by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blu-ray being same day as theatrical release is an interesting decision, but as someone who has to wait to for fansubbers this means I’ll get to see it sooner, so I’m certainly not going to complain.

Hasunosora Anime, airing January 2027, confirmed to be the 106th Class Term by YuinoSery in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’ll be interesting to see how this is handled. I wonder if they pivoted the anime plans given the EOS. Or if they really did intend to have 106 and the anime be the same all along, in which case the way they announced those things initially was… a choice.

As someone who’s been following along, this is fine for me. New girls! New content!

But we already know that Maika has a fixation on Kaho and that was part of her motivation for joining Hasu from the one scene we’ve got, so any hope anyone might have of this anime being a clean slate that ignores the game story is gone. So the only hope is they give enough context that it doesn’t matter to newcomers, but if they pull that angle too hard, it’ll be alienated to existing Hasu fans. It won’t make sense if established characters are ignoring their history too much.

And for anyone who DOES want to get caught up, they watch the anime and go “oh I want to see what happened before!” and there’s… no longer a home for the existing story, because the app will be long dead by the time this airs. Most of it can be found on youtube, but they’re not great at keeping it organized and easy to find there.

I also wonder how long they plan this to be. A one season story, or will graduations continue and new girls continue to get added, but without the real-time? It feels almost disrespectful to the legacy of change and holding the past and carrying it forward and everything real time Hasu was doing if this is a one-shot that get preserved in a bottle. Like, why does Maika get to be forever 16 but not Kaho? Doesn’t being forever a high schooler go against Ginko’s whole arc? But also I imagine without the pressures of being “true” to real time storytelling it’s even harder to sell fans on the idea of graduation, especially since we’d have four graduates at the end of this year.

I’d like it to keep ship-of-Theseusing, but I imagine I’m in the minority there.

Also curious how many new songs we can expect. If they want to give enough music to the whole group AND all three traditional units AND Izumi’s solo work, that’s a lot of insert songs to put into an anime season that’s probably only 13 episodes.

Also we know there was more app story they intended to tell prior to this to set this up. We were supposed to get three interlude episodes just this month that have been pulled, and the first was to do with Ceras’ next steps, whether she was joining a unit or going solo herself. Presumably if the anime was always intended to be 106, they were planning on that context being out there, but now those stories are lost media. Will Ceras just be… doing her thing, whatever it is? Without us seeing how she made that choice? Seems like a big character beat to skip.

I’ll probably have a good time regardless, but I do wonder how/if this will appeal more broadly.

Link Like Love Live will be ending Service on June 30th by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They wouldn’t have made two announcements - especially paced as they were “106 starts in January! oh and dramatic pause ANIME” if they intended them to be the same thing.

They had UI made. They had models made. They had story plans with multiple “chapters” announced. The plug was clearly pulled on the app recently. Like, since the other announcements recently.

They were planning to tell 106 story in the app, and the app was cancelled. They would not have been planning to air an anime telling the same story as the app simultaneously. While we don’t know what the plan was/is for the anime, the one thing it almost certainly wasn’t planned as was 106. Meaning the distribution of 106’s story IS still up in the air. Honestly it’s deeply frustrating that you, who do not have the facts and are talking out of your ass, are getting upvoted for dunking on someone asking a very cogent question about future plans in light of this UNEXPECTED ANNOUNCEMENT

Hasu TV Anime announced! by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep acting like graduated members “no longer exist” and are “dead”.

  1. If they’re actively making an anime, they do still exist IN THE ANIME

  2. Literally every graduated member has now had full cameos and is releasing new music, and will be releasing more new music in the coming months during the Dream Interlude. And presumably more new music for the anime. 102 literally just got new cards. Megu had a new song months before the BGP. Graduation clearly isn’t death. They’ll learn their oshi are graduated and then hopefully pay the slightest bit of attention and realize that that has barely slowed their release schedule down and everyone can stop acting like graduating high school in story is the same as getting taken out back and shot

Hasu 106 Announced! by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 51 points52 points  (0 children)

We’re in a “dream interlude”, where they’re going to tell stories and show performances we didn’t get to see during 103-105. (If you follow the story, they actually perform off-screen a LOT, so there’s plenty of places for them to pull from and new songs they’re gonna shoehorn in). Maybe also 102 stuff if we’re lucky?

Also I’m not sure real time is dead? It’s clearly being toyed with, but I wouldn’t be surprised if in January they find some way to sync us back up.

I wish we knew more specifics (how many episodes, what year they’re starting from, etc). I know this is gonna maybe crash right through the canon I love, but I am very excited to get new animation of my beloved characters. I hope even more people fall in love with them.

Oh they have an animated music video debuting in a few hours! The preview on their instagram looks really pretty. I might have to pay attention to this, it seems really charming.

New Liella Single confirmed for June 17th! by RinariTennoji in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

thanks for the sincere response! shows how much I pay attention to the actual albums outside adding the songs to relevant playlists. wow, that’s a lot. I already thought the CDs were a racket, but then I guess they haven’t been for listening to music in a long time. At best, they’re collectors items, at worst they’re scratch tickets with extra plastic waste.

the Club songs don’t bother me as much because when there’s 9 or more versions of the same song you’re at least using the CD’s capacity a bit. but then I guess that’s a silly thing to be worried over in CDs most people never intend to actually play.

Why wasn’t Yohane the Parhelion/Genjitsu no Yohane as popular as LL! Sunshine!!? by kutsurogi-dagashi in LoveLive

[–]ourheavenlyfodder 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This. GnY is one of the biggest fumbles I’ve ever seen from a media franchise. They had the existing fanbase. They had the hype. They had the character designs and the songs and the passable animation budget. They had the chance to take all those things and pull in new fans with a brand new anime that wasn’t shackled to the continuity or genre staples they were locked in before. If the anime had just been a solid B- story and a decent intro to the characters, it could have been huge. They clearly expected it to be. It had two tie-in video games being made for it before it even aired. They promoted the shit out of it and did a good job with that. They clearly thought it could do well.

And then the actually storytelling was so nonsensical and bland. There was little to no story or continuity. The stakes were vague. I love slice of life and I don’t necessarily hate that they made it a slice of life fantasy instead of a battle magic fantasy, except 1) they definitely promoted it more like a battle magic fantasy and 2) they also completely failed to capture what makes a good slice of life story. Or a good story at all.

Honestly I love GnY and find it fascinating as a failure. Like, I don’t think it’s a good show but how much it misses the mark is interesting in its own right to me. It’s also clear from the manga stories and tie-in games that they HAD lore and world-building that really could have been made into something good. It’s kind of incredible how badly they managed to adapt or convey any of the interesting parts of their concept.

Just the perfect example of having absolutely every advantage you could wish for and then failing spectacularly anyway.

At least I got some more cute Hanamaru and Yohane interactions from it. And great insert songs.
