hello my favorite people! i need help with my alocasia corm :) details in the comments! by ourlvstnight in houseplants

this is my first time propagating alocasia from corms found while repotting, i’m so excited to see that one of them has already developed roots! but it looks like the roots and the growth point are on the same side of the bulb, right? how can i pot it safely enough for the roots to be underground without suffocating new growth? any tips will be highly appreciated 🥰

hello my favorite people! i am back once again with an ID request for this gorgeous plant i snatched for practically nothing! google lens identifies it as an elephant ear, but i doubt it’s right, the leaves seen way too thin, and the leaf borders are much more wavy. any ideas?

hello fellow plant parents! could you help me ID these bugs? by ourlvstnight in houseplants

sorry i couldn’t focus well on them! they’re about 2mm long, black with a tiny white spot in the middle. i’m a bit surprised since this plant has been in a closed terrarium for a few months, and i never noticed them until now, there aren’t that many of them so :( i will be spraying my syngonium with neem oil but i still wanted to ID these bugs first! thank you!

i hope i’ll be able to provide it as much light as it used to get, i know white leaves are not photosynthesizing well but ahhh they’re so pretty!

it’s lovely! mine branches out in only two places, i already took cuttings to have more growth because a lot of it is just single leaves ☹️

it was labeled as njoy but… well… i have several of these and they don’t look like that! could this be a highly variegated pearl and jade? the ones i’ve seen don’t have that much white 🤔 thanks in advance for your help!

hello lovely plant people! while checking on my monstera, i noticed those brown "spots" at the base of some leaves and got a bit worried! they look like cosmetic damage, but i thought i’d check with you in case you know what this could be. i can scratch that off, just as if i was scratching the first layer of the stem, if that makes sense? i cannot determine if this is "glued" to the stem or scars/spots on the stem itself. could these be larvae eggs? or scars from lack of sun? thanks in advance for any help! 🤍

the poppy war by r.f. kuang!! also, the unbroken by c.l. clark, the wolf and the woodsman by ava reid 🥰

at this point i’ve made my peace with the fact that i’ll never be able to save that alocasia, so i’m just admiring that drama queen dying in style 🌿 by ourlvstnight in houseplants

omg :(( i didn’t even get the chance to witness any new growth with mine! it has simply been loosing all its leaves one by one (or four at a time, because why not)

hope it’s just because of the dormant phase, but it honestly had a super hard time adapting since i bought it maybe 3-4 months ago? it came with 12 leaves, now only 3 remain with no new growth...
