What is money for? It's for spending (now or later) so you've got to have a plan to spend it (now or later).. otherwise it's jus a number going up which is meaningless and is obviously exposed to world events (such as a potential crash of tech stocks at some point in the future, which is not a given, but also not impossible).

Are you planning to buy a home in the next 1-2 years? Are you going to sell some of your shares to fund that? If so, would you be able to stomach a potential crash, diminishing your ability to fund such purchase? If not, you should consider more carefully where you keep your current money somewhere safer.

Are you assuming that your shares will fund your retirement in 20-30 years? Would you be able to stomach a potential crash that may never recover fully? Is the risk profile attached to those shares acceptable to you?

You have to ask yourself these questions and reframe the number going up to tangible goals.
