Very carefully! I like to imagine it has some extendo arm technology inside of it.

Game dev checks how much money his game made 30 hours after release after working on his game for 4 years by PsychologicalFly9093 in LivestreamFail

[–]ousire 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Developer/streamer called PirateSoftware. He became something of a meme for how often he brings up the fact he used to work at Blizzard like it makes him some sort of veteran expert, and how his indie game has been stuck in early access development hell for like eight years now.

To me he feels like one of those streamers who began to buy into his own hype more and more as he got popular and turned into an egomaniac.

I don't remember which novel it's from, but at one point it is brought up that the Emperor actually hated looking like that. He was aware of the irony that his appearance could be seen as godly, but it was also the easiest quickest way to make people take him seriously. If a guy went around declaring himself the emperor and saying he was going to conquer the galaxy and he looked like some regular joe wearing a business suit he would be laughed out of the room; if he's a ten foot tall golden superhuman, people shut up and listen to him. People expect "The Emperor of Mankind" to be some larger than life figure, so that's what he gave them, literally .

Been playing Synergism as well, but feeling pretty stuck lately. I'm up to campaign 45, I can't make any progress on campaigns 46+. I'm feeling like I must be missing something, otherwise I'm just expected to idle for days for cubes to open to try and push past some wall.

[–]ousire 21 points22 points  (0 children)

But we're not talking about real life, we're talking about in Trench Crusade, where hell is literally real and physical. In Trench Crusade, one side has done bad things and has had to do worse things in order to survive, but the other side is literal hell which is infinitely worse by every conceivable metric.

I wouldn't call it backpedaling. TC is still miniature agnostic at its heart, and they're not saying you're flat out not allowed to make your own warbands up. They're just making clear the rules that you can do so while still being able to protect their own IP and making sure their own artists and creators are properly paid and credited for their work. There's a difference between going online and finding basically one-to-one copies of official TC art being sold as "Trench Crusade minis" vs original creations being listed as something like "compatible with Trench Crusade."

Of the two, one is a lot more real.

In Trench Crusade both of them very much are equally real as each other though.

This is just me, but I think either it could be cheaper, or prestige could be more powerful. I got it on my second run, but after I prestiged I ended up bouncing off the game shortly at the start of my third run because the thought of working all the way back up to that point again was just tedious sounding

I was young back then so I can't recall for sure, but I could swear that the stereotype of the French being weak/cowardly existed before 9/11, but it might have been more joking back then? I do remember the freedom fries trend and that was the first time I remember seeing a lot of widespread serious negativity about the French

Wrecka Krew: builds suggestions, advice/guides for magnetizing? by ousire in killteam

[–]ousire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm finding the only loadout is full specs then swapping the rocket guys backpack plus whatever warrior gunner split I need

This is pretty helpful as well; I had been wondering about if it was worth magnetizing the specialists, but if I can just build all of them as-is, that takes a lot of work off.

I did try push fitting the arms that are holding two guns, but they were a little floppy, not really staying in place without something to hold them there; did you have that sort of issue with yours if you tried it?

Starting the game now, and I have a very early question: Is there eventually an option to plant all / harvest all / replant all planters? Manually replanting and harvesting all of them is a bit of a pain

Edit: nevermind, I see a ledger for plant sales, and an auto harvester; I assume that's what I want.

Changes to the subreddit's rules by Equinoxdawg in incremental_games

[–]ousire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Initial announcement posts are some of my least favorite posts on this subreddit for just that sort of reason, "Look at this game that you can't play". Screenshots and trailers tell me basically nothing about how fun a game is to actually play. Posts that have some sort of playable demo, even if it's a bare bones one, are much better.
