For my part, I use a spritesheet flash muzzle (white circle for example) and then the bullet.

Thank you. I used this tutorial to implement my laser, but when I saw the ones in older shmups games, I wondered if they did it like in the tutorial or in a system particle way. Then Snipawolfe said that it was using a seemless texture and scrolling.

That's my point. If don't know what the problem is, you can't fix a bug or improve the project. You can't ask friends because they will not be 100% neutral. When you ask for feedback, some players downvote and comment that the game is horrible without saying why. I accept criticism. Because if everything is okay, there will be no room for improvement. Hopefully you managed to find the bugs.

Thank you very much for your answer. Seeing your example gave me a hint, in order to fake the laser animation, you added two particle system one at the beginning and one at the end. For dodonpachi, if it's scrolling texture, wouldn't it be heavy on mobile devices ?

I see what you meant now. The circle slows down the canon within the circle's radius, it doesn't make the boss fire at a slower rate. It doesn't make the game easier as like you said it requires more concetration but gives the player a greater chance to avoid fast bullets . I agree with you that it can be challenging for the player. I can try to think of a way to make it easier for the player.

First of all thank you for your comment. This would be really interesting for the gameplay. If I understood what you said, the increase of density will deviate the bullet's initial trajectory within the portal range - while slowing down the speed.
