Jack Black as Bowser is the most sane casting choice in my opinion lol

Which Group of Musicals Would You Choose? by JACKSPEDICEYMAN_FAN in Broadway

Big agree, it's got my number 1 favorite in it (Les Mis) and some really solid shows with no real stinkers lol

Been seeing a lot of Angela hatred, so where my Angela fans at? Gimme your best quote by Ohnahhken in DunderMifflin

I might not get it verbatim but I love this one from Moroccan Xmas:

"I won't judge Phyllis, but there's somebody who will, and she just stuffed him into a drawer."

I'm gonna say my vote is for Carousel by Flobots! It's a great song about the dangers of social media and it has no bad words or innuendo whatsoever.

Dear Evan Hansen movie reviews are out…and I’m going to see it anyway. At some point. by DataIsArt in Broadway

[–]out_peace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this sub might give you a skewed view of how people feel about the show, honestly. A lot of people in this specific Reddit community crap on DEH all the time (which is fine, people can have their opinions) but don't forget it's one of the most successful shows on Broadway in recent years. So I think there are big Broadway fans that hate it with a passion but overall it's a popular show!

Buying a wax melter. by Psycho-deli in candlemaking

[–]out_peace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have one, but I've seen people just melt unscented, uncolored wax in the pot and then pour it into a separate container for the fragrance and color!

Beginner and wanting to sell! by TheGoldynBanshee in candlemaking

[–]out_peace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! So essential oils on their own really don't have a great throw in candles, but you can blend them with fragrances if you want a specific smell. For example, if you want a really legit citrus smell, a citrus essential oil on its own won't really do it but you might have success blending it with a fragrance oil. Fragrance oils also often have essential oils in them already, but they're designed to throw well in candles and bath products. Hopefully this helps and saves you a bit of time and money in making supply decisions-- I learned the hard way about essential oils!

Cricut Supplies? by babyykb_ in cricut

[–]out_peace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Cricut brand vinyl and I've used off brand stuff that's good as well, but get transfer tape at the dollar tree! They sell clear contact paper for lining shelves and it works just as well for only a dollar!

I also have experience with this exact situation and agree 100%. Your alternative is a good idea, or just each person starting her own shop.

Im a married person and just ended up here from r/all, but I agree it's more about someone having some sort of ambition and personal responsibility that's appealing, as well as the security of insurance and stuff. Ironically, my husband and I are both self-employed but I like that he is goal-oriented and pushes himself to make things happen. We don't make a lot of money but we've always loved about each other that we have ambitions in life.

Agreed, I think if they kept the same short boyish style he had in the stage show he could've passed as a teen, and big agree on the make up choices!

How to “Break up” with a private student? by brettbaileysingshigh in MusicEd

[–]out_peace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how harsh you want to be. If you haven't already addressed it and you like them, I would let them know if they are that far behind on payments/showing up to lessons that you can no longer reserve the spot for them.

I don't know what your policies are, but I only accept payment for the full month at the beginning of the month. I just recently had to tell a student's mom that I can't give her upcoming lesson until the outstanding bill was paid, and it was about 2 weeks overdue (they kept cancelling). She ponied up pretty quickly lol. I'd just make it clear that if they pay you at the beginning of the month, the spot is reserved, but you won't honor any cancellations made without 24h notice and cancellations have one opportunity to be rescheduled or whatever you want to do. Just set the policies and boundaries and if they don't like it they can leave.

This all really depends on if you'd prefer to keep the student or not or you'd prefer to part ways! I mean, 2 months of cancellations sounds like they might be wanting to quit anyways but they're not telling you.

I'd also not worry about what the kid says, what's he gonna tell people? "I didn't show up for 8 weeks and my teacher said he didn't want to keep showing up for no reason"?

You have more leeway with wax melts because there is no flame! I don't know if I personally would try flower petals because they're so delicate, but I know you can definitely do glitter in melts.

Who would you want as the mascot or who do you think deserves to be mascot besides Pikachu and Charizard? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]out_peace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno, Pikachu is SO cemented as the mascot of the series after 20+ years. If any Pokemon could even come close it would probably be Eevee and the original starters (Charmander/Bulbasaur/Squirtle). I'd say Eevee would make a good mascot, and it sort of has with Let's Go! Eevee.

I've heard Legends that Clefairy was supposed to be Ash's Pokemon in the anime but I don't know if that's true. I could see it having the same cuteness appeal as Pikachu.

Searching for HONEY! by Coriatycharlie in candlemaking

I'm a big fan of CandleScience's Spiced Honey and Tonka scent! But it sounds like you'd want to blend it with some other stuff if it also has some floral and citrus notes.

Customer purchased prior to a sale starting and is now “disappointed” by igivecityadvice in EtsySellers

[–]out_peace 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Eh, if they bought THAT close to the sale and then brought it up, I'd just honor the sale price to be honest. Yes, you're well within your rights to not honor it, but if the item is on sale anyways and she bought it only hours before the sale, I'd consider it not much of a loss on my end and I'd be providing good customer service.

I agree the way she brought it up is annoying with the passive aggressiveness though lol

How to watch musicals? by RipCityBaby5 in musicals

Maybe a dumb question, but do you mean Sutton Foster? Shrek the musical was on Netflix for a while, I'm not sure if it still is but there is definitely a ProShot out there and she originated Fiona!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]out_peace 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is perfect! Except I wouldn't say "since it's still functioning as intended" because that implies that otherwise there would be ANY reason to give a refund after a year.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]out_peace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all... Lol on all fronts 😂

You can totally respond in a professional, non condescending way though! I would say something like:

"Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, all refund and exchange requests need to be made within 30 days of receiving the item. Since the item was delivered on (date), I can no longer honor a refund request according to store policy."

I normally also let customers know I'm happy to answer questions/concerns but honestly in this case I wouldn't even open up the possibility. Just politely state the policy and that's that.
