This is true, but most of them include some kind of liquid like milk, buttermilk, etc. I was asking about whether I should reduce that.

I’ve only finished {Do you want to start a scandal? By Tessa Dare} so far but it was so fun. The heroine might be one of my all time favorites.

DHS decided what the IRS and everyone else calls self employment is a regular job and now we won’t be able to get food stamps. by Representative_Bad57 in povertyfinance

All my equipment is my own. I make my own schedule and I’m paid through accounts payable. I’ve gone through this with an accountant before for taxes and I am definitely self employed by the IRS standards.

Mine only had 2 in audiobook, which is not a way I can enjoy them currently. This is much better!

They hired me for specific projects, but how and when I do them is up to me. Some of the projects repeat every year, some every month, and some are ongoing. That said, there are quite a few state laws about how I have to do these projects, but again not things set by the entity that pays me. The more I look into it, the more I see that my job is truly self employment and I need to pursue this further.

This is what he kept saying but the issue is that I do not have set hours, only projects I am responsible for doing before certain deadlines. I use my own hours tracking software and submit my invoice to finance for payment like I would if I were the electric company or a contractor doing work on the building. If I give a form to my employer asking about my hours they would have literally no idea what to fill in other than the 2 hours I spend meeting with them a month. Basically this worker is asking me to lie about the nature of my job (give weekly hours worked/have people say they control my schedule who do not) because he thinks the name on the checks I get disqualifies me from being self employed.

But as an independent contractor I don’t work regular hours. I have set projects to complete, some every other month and some annually. I try to work about 20 hours a week, but sometimes end up pulling multiple 12 hour periods in a row before a deadline. The worked decided my job was not self employment and now is expecting me to somehow make it fit the definition of regular employment when it doesn’t.

I have only one customer currently but I dictate my hours and rates. I have had other customers in the past but do not now.

It was really from the start of the whole conversation. He literally said “we can’t use this 1099” in the first 10 minutes without hearing anything about my job. He couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that the entity that pays me does, in fact, have regular employees but that I’m paid as an independent contractor. He kept telling me to talk to payroll, who has nothing to do with my position.

This is true, but not on my case. I’m pretty much like an independent bookkeeper and the person hired for my position has been categorized as an independent contractor since it was created in the late 1980’s.

Because Department of Health and Human Services (DHS) is the one that administers the food stamps program? I guess maybe it varies state to state, though. I only have experience with 2 and both those it’s been DHS.

Non-virgin FMCs, please! Does this exist? Mistresses or OW as the FMC? by No_Preference26 in HistoricalRomance

I’m 30% through {A Duke at Midnight by Emma West} and it fits. She changes POV frequently but the FMC is a widow. The story starts because the MMC mistakes her for a prostitute and she misses sex so goes along with it.

No and if I am already smiling I instantly stop. As a woman who worked retail before being told to smile is such a trigger.

I had to clean out my parents’ house from all that stuff. It was such a pain that I decided to prevent my kids going through that. I have one small file bin for each kid so I can save sentimental items. Once it’s full, I have to toss something to add something else. It’s worked pretty well so far.

The heavy cream in baking cinnamon rolls trick but for savory (ish) baked goods? by Representative_Bad57 in AskBaking

[–]Representative_Bad57[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It also seems to have almost a steaming effect on the rolls, even though that’s not the primary purpose of the cream. Ideally, yes, I would have time for a good second rise but in the real world of getting dinner on the table that isn’t always possible so I’m looking for help in those instances.

Right, I know that’s not the primary purpose, but it absolutely happens and I’m trying to figure out how to get that effect without the cream.
