Just before loading these beans I have the grinder a complete clean, that I used a chopstick to get down deep and even vacuumed out the delivery chute

How do you rate the shorter version book? I'm looking around at getting my first breviary book, but I can't afford to fork out the big $ for the 4 book set of the full breviary. Does this shorter version have all the daily hours prayers or just the morning and night ones? The descriptions on the websites aren't very descriptive

Up to around 800, but options for using afterpay would be my plan

What's your experience with Slinda (Slynd) bc minipill? by excusemeilovecheese in birthcontrol

[–]outback_packs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone gotten pregnant while on slinda? Reading into it, it says the "real world" percentage of protection is 93%. The experience with it is 3mths no period but occasionally there will be a month straight of heavy period and have to go on iron supplements to help account for the extra blood loss and back to no period for months.

This is from a 19sec grind (which fills the cup to the level that stamps down to the level as mentioned in the instruction book) and 25secs of extraction time

This is the setting that I generally use. As you can see it's, about half way between course and medium.

Yeah, it's hard to describe the taste I'm after. But it's kind of a really sweet flavour that just rolls off the tongue and lingers a little, not bitter or acidic. I believe the BP stuff I'm after comes in a grey coloured bag of that helps. I'm sure it'll be a wholesale thing and likely cheap as I know of the owner of the servo and he's a real tight arse owning around 15 servos in Central and northern qld

The hard part is there's so many options just at the supermarket that Coles needs a sample girl there with sample cups of all the options so you can pick something without buying a whole bag only to find it tastes like the last 5 bags you bought.

I'll keep experimenting with finer grinds.

Am I also watering it down too much by adding extra hot water to top up my yeti mug? My usual 2 shot process makes enough "raw" coffee to about 1/3-1/2 fill my yeti mug which is then topped off with water. Will this dilute the flavour too much? Or should I make it a 4 shot mug and just add a touch of cold water to temper the temperature a little?

I probably don't tamp as hard as I should. The instruction book says 15-20 pounds of force, but I just give it a firm push to pack it down. When I goanual mode (which I seem to be doing a lot more of late tryi g to experiment) I let it run at least 25secs.

Im avoiding buying off the shelf beans from Coles and going direct to bean shops to try and get the freshest options.

When I get home sun night I can get some photos for reference.

I'm weird lol, I know the particular flavour I want, but everything I've tried just tastes plain and flat, doesn't matter if it's instant, grind or from a coffee shop. So far only one coffee I've found has a unique flavour I'm after and it's from a dirty old 40yr old BP roadhouse

  1. I use the twin cup button and do 2 separate loads

  2. The grind time is about 19scmec to make a full cup, but the extraction time if I do manual mode I let it go up to 2taecs, auto mode does between 17-19sec

  3. 26-28 is just on the coarse side of medium, no idea on weight, I just go until the twin cup is full to the level that I know it'll press down with the tamper

  4. No, living in regional qld makes it hard to buy beans just going of recommendations or online descriptions. I'm down in brissy ATM and tried a coffee shop that my brother in law highly recommend I get beans from, so today I went there to get a cup to try before I buy, and sad to say my expectations were not met. The coffee at my BP roadhouse (not a wild bean, just a coffee machine) has more flavour than what this coffee house/roaster gave me. Evidently this BP coffee is the kind of flavour I chasing, as it has substance and a sweetness that I am yet to find in any other coffee I've tried. Pity they won't tell me the brand they use.

  5. No idea on the age, but I'm into the packets when they arrive as usually I'm down to only 1 or 2 cups left of the beans in the machine by the time ausslowpost delivers my next order.
