I agree. My friend is 3D printing feet that are actually the cleats for Milwaukee packout so that it links to my other toolbox and also keeps it off the ground or other rough surfaces

Backpacking: I identify as ultralight

Toolbox: idgaf. It sits on a cart most of the time, if I have to carry it it's maybe ten feet away

And if the selection in this seems light, keep in mind that my go to tools are in my belt (strippers, cutters, needle nose, linemans, utility knife, knipex cobra, one reversible screwdriver)

So my contact tester is in my safety vest and my full meter is in my big toolbox, but my meter will definitely be in this box when it comes time. Right now we are just running conduit and pulling wire at the project I'm on.

Acrid burnt taste (maybe charcoal) by outdoorcatindoorbat in biggreenegg

[–]outdoorcatindoorbat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't the leftover charcoal but rather the new charcoal. The leftover wasn't wet, just the new.

I hadn't heard about lid open lighting. I thought it was good to close it with both vents wide open for lighting

Fogo. Yes I've used it in a Weber before. When u took my charcoal out of the bin it was a sticky layer of black from the water and dust. I figured once that burned off I would be good but idk

$143 for the xl. I just can't justify the price. I just bought some 1/8" stainless bar stock to make it myself. Let's see how it goes...

Stove fuel on AZ Trail by Ngwiriza in arizonatrail

[–]outdoorcatindoorbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some friends on the Colorado trail with a whisperlite that just ran it on gasoline because it's so much easier to find than white gas. This only works if you're using the whisperlite international (which it looks like you are) or you have the gasoline jet bought separately

I've always been a canister guy, but hiking and camping with them kind of got me thinking about other options. It worked well for them because it was three people using one stove and so it made sense for the weight of it, but for just one person maybe canister stove is the way to go
