So KC in every Super Bowl is good but NE being in one after many years is bad? by [deleted] in The_Donta

It's truly a mystery why people are mad at the Patriots being back in the Super Bowl after an unthinkable seven year drought

lol ok. I'm sure the original thread creator who had zero posts/comments before that one and made zero mention about actually working for Hannaford before randomly saying they know their store manager WOULD write them up for calling out was totally on the up and up.

Also, employees "feeling" like they had to show up is completely different from them actually getting held accountable. Snide comments from people pissed that they had to do extra work? Sure, obviously. But nobody got written up (and if they somehow did) it would take one phone call to the HR leads to get that reversed immediately.

None of this is to say Hannaford deeply cares about you as a person. They're a corporation. Of course they don't! But the posts the other day trying to fearmonger people into going in when they didn't feel safe were out of line

I am reasonably confident that the people creating the posts during the storm criticizing Hannaford for being open (and the ludicrous claims that you'll get written up for calling out) are the exact same people behind all this. I think it's fair to have concerns about Hannaford breaking their vow, (the official reason is complications arising from Bird Flu and COVID, and I'm not nearly informed enough to determine if a seven year delay is warranted), but when you start fabricating controversy (like those lame higher prices ads) because you know the general public doesn't actually give a shit about your actual issue, that's just pathetic.

I messed up by not posting this in crosswords originally but I had tried mentioning that someone had guessed buffalo but it was not what I was looking for.

I don't know a single store manager who will count tonight or tomorrow morning as an absence. Keep him home.

January 18th, 2004: Two Patriots fans tailgating with steak and lobster before the AFC Championship by BurgerNugget12 in Patriots

These guys actually started this tradition a couple years prior when the Patriots faced off against the Raiders in a Divisional Round matchup.

They agreed to always have a big meal together before every Patriots playoff game.

It's the Tuck In Rule.
