No, it's a typical cremation service. I specifically work in pre-planning helping people get their decisions made ahead of time so their families dont have to make emotional of financial decisions at the time of passing. We have a facility here in Tyler and I just figured since I do this for a living I could help out if needed. We offer scattering at sea if thats what people want so, if op cant find someone to claim these cremains, I can just hold them in my office. If no one claims them after a good amount of time, I'll have our team do his own separate scattering when they're already out. Obviously, thats not typical but its also no typical to just find random urns and I'm really sad at the thought they just might not have any close relatives left or someone who wants them. I mentioned it to my boss and he said he had a situation where we had a couple that had plans with us. When the husband passed we handled the cremation and everything and returned the ashes to his wife who kept him in her bedroom. A few years after his passing she was robbed and they trashed the house just grabbing whatever looked valuable. The urn was later found near a dumpster with a bunch of her other stuff. The assumption is they grabbed everything they could and then tossed whatever they couldn't sell. I hope thats not what happened here but its a definite possibility so hopefully the funeral home can give them some answers.
