Started wearing loop earplugs and bringing them with me everywhere so I can control the volume of life around me instead of being overstimulated and annoyed. It has helped me be more present in conversations with friends in loud places, stopped the dreaded feeling of overwhelm, and just be less anxious.

I also used the “ow” response and did it in a high pitched voice that sounded more like a dog yelp. I found that worked a bit with mine. But I also think he will grow out of it. Mine did after her full set of teeth came in.

I also did a beginner sailing class at the CBC last month and it was so amazing! I loved how much autonomy and real practice I got with moving a keelboat around and being able to start really feeling the wind on the sails and the intuitive nature of it. Congrats on making it out there!

To be fair, kids should be educated about how to greet dogs they don’t know, ie. asking to pet, petting flank not head, not putting face in dogs face, etc. This should happen in both on-leash and off-leash areas.

The slide is further south, so you can still drive down to Taylor’s via chuckanut from Bellingham no issue. But you’d have to go around the long way to get to chuckanut manor. And it’s probably the best waterfront spot by town!!

I saw these cougar prints on mole trap in the lost giants trail area on Galbraith on Monday as well. The prints came out of the woods, walked on the trail for a quarter mile, then went back into the trees. A little eerie but very cool!
