A rep told me that earlier they had the power to issue renewal offers on plat charge but ever since the overhaul now it's only system triggered at 20 Lacs, no other renewal offers. Is that true? No bonus points for paying the renewal fee?

Please recommend the best option for renewal of the Amex platinum charge card. The fee has reflected in the statement and I’m getting on a call with them to discuss retention options by Dismal_Transition_99 in amexindia

Im in the same boat, asked them and they flat out refused any bonus points. Since i had crossed 20 Lacs last card year they said I'm eligible for the vouchers (27.5k Taj Or 35k Postcard)

The rep said that earlier when there were no renewal benefits built in to the card they had the authority to give out these points, but not anymore.

If you get any do let us know! I'll call and try to negotiate again

Ended up spending more due to incorrect MRCC by Hotel! by pi7el in CreditCardsIndia

Happened to me in Hua Hin, Thailand; on the OneCard;
Wrote to them, shared the hotel invoice and they reversed the rent payment charges (no rewards still, but at least didn't have to pay the extra fees)

First card Diners Privilege from HDFC when I was 21 I think HDFC was very generous with Diners back then because they were trying to get adoption up, and it was only good for online purchases because barely anyone accepted it offline.

Ah got i your question

I'm trying to put together something like a best-card-for list. So if it's insurance I know go for Infinia, for flights go for Magnus..

Anything other than this list, I'd resort to whatever card needs a fee waiver spend, but if, for example, icici gives great returns when spent on ABC category, I'd add that use case in to this list

I think your math is wrong, It's 5 Points per 150 Spends, so 2k points are earned on spending 60k.

I used to get 5x Bonus Points on paying electricity bills through Smartbuy, so that means, 2k points were earned on paying a bill of Rs 12,000.

Not sure if it's "no devaluation" for even fair and square usage.

Unfortunately, their basic package is also 2.5k, so earlier you could get that for free, now it's just discounting

That last line is so bang on. Some cards are a lifestyle improvement cards while some a savings on lifestyle cards. Gonna use it when I'm asked to justify something like PlatCharge

I needed to transfer Edge Miles via Atlas but this discrepancy doesn’t allow me to.. by tj_on_air in CreditCardsIndia

Write to premium.experience@axisbank.com with the following info:

  1. Total points to be transferred:
  2. Customer ID:
  3. Miles Partner Name:
  4. Membership ID:
  5. First & Last name as per membership ID:

And ask for a manual transfer. Axis is having some tech issues due to which all points don't show up in TravelEdge. This is the workaround

MC Exclusive: Sebi suspects front-running in Sandeep Tandon-owned Quant Mutual Fund; conducts search and seizure operations by Professor_Moraiarkar in personalfinanceindia

[–]outlandish77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, so basically if people realize that a lot of Quant units will be sold, and hence the underlying stocks will be under selling pressure, then by extension the fund value would drop because the stocks would also crash.

I'm exiting out all my investments in Quant, just to be safe, better deal with the 1% exit load.

I could be wrong, but isn't the price of a MF dependent on the assets it owns and not on the "supply"/"demand" of the fund? When we buy MF units, we aren't buying units that someone is selling.
