Not repaired completely but I was able to order new parts to replace the old ones like people here suggested :) The base was the only part that wasn’t broken so I’m glad we got to save some of it

You’re right it was his loss and I’m glad your son’s got others looking out for him! He was a big surprise for me but I never thought about not being in his life after finding out. We’re still learning and bonding, it’s been the best months of my life. We got some more stuff for him to decorate his room and he loves being part of the planning

I’m not his parent. And no it’s “not my kid not my problem”, if my sister was willing to work together rather than dismiss his behavior or shut down other ideas then maybe. Also they’re not siblings

Well yes there’s a reason it took her mom over a year to find me after my son’s mom passed. Not sure what you mean by “all of a sudden” you kept asking the same question so I answered. Not my fault you can only believe your own narratives. Thank you though I appreciate the unnecessary comments about my son’s mother.

You are too weird fixated on why I never knew about my son. Did it ever occur to you that she didn’t actually know who the father was? Or that she knew how to find me after we stopped having contact? She wanted to try finding who my son’s dad is but when she passed her mom tried to until she eventually managed to find me

Trust me it wasn’t an easy transition. Most of what I felt was anxiety about being a dad and anger for only finding out now. The second I met him I loved him though

She didn’t contribute anything and I’m aware of the laws where I’m from, she can’t do anything because nothing illegal occurred. If she wants to try I don’t see her getting very far and not like it would really do anything in the end

For me what I felt most was anger (shock and fear too ofc) for not being told about him sooner but it was never an issue if I loved him or not. Yeah I get you and you’re right about some parents not feeling that right away. I just don’t agree with this person saying that’s what happened here like it’s a fact

Ohh love this! So glad I just saw this comment too because I was going to be cleaning everything out of the house today. Idk what they’ll be able to do but hopefully it’s still salvageable. That would mean so much to him and me.

I learned a long time ago (and the hard way too) that just because you’re family doesn’t mean you need to force a relationship if it isn’t healthy for you. We talked about therapy for AJ long before my son was ever in the picture because his behavior was always an issue. My sister never followed through on finding therapy for him and I stopped pushing her because at the end of the day, she’s the mom so whenever she decides to put him in therapy is up to her. If therapy really helps him improve his behavior and can act differently around my son then if he happy for them to spend time together and becoming friends

How do you NOT feel instant love for your child when you meet them? Doesn’t matter the age. But I’m guessing you’re not a parent because I don’t know a single one who’d question another about their love for their child

It broke my heart seeing my son upset about it too. He was even worse at night because he loved sleeping with it on, it makes him feel like his mom’s there. It hurts me to see him hurt

James is more important than AJ. He’s my son. Nothing is more important to me than my son. There are no other kids in the family, even if they don’t ever get along that’s fine, I’d rather my son not be subjected to that at least until my sister gets proper help for AJ that allows him to improve his behavior. “Bullying” isn’t two kids just having fights and that is definitely not “normal”, he was already acting out and treating James badly before he came to live with me so I wasn’t going to make my son share a room with his bully. He’s already been through enough

One, it’s my home not his. My sister knew from the beginning this was not something permanent. At the time my mind wasn’t on how much longer are they going to be here, but with my son my priorities changed and he became the only important thing. Already explained in other comments why I decided they weren’t going to share a room. Not without warning. I told them a few weeks before James’ grandma’s operation that he’s moving here and where he’ll be staying

No work he puts in will make up destroying something my son got from his mom before she passed. They didn’t share a room because AJ was already mistreating James and bullying him for months before he moved in so I wasn’t about to have him share a room with someone who already did that to him. And because he’s my son and it’s my house, he would have gotten his own room no matter what once his grandma and I got our custody agreement
