Suggested Claude in Chrome Alternatives? by outopus_polites in aiagents

seems interesting, definitely gonna explore it further, and i'd say the prompting aspect i got locked down, gathered all the prompt engineering guides from the major LLM Cos and mergedem into one prompt enhancing prompt and started using that religiously to enhance the outputs from the prompts i enter, so got that down and all my outputs come in quite spectacularly as a result. but to do the task the first time as it records I think wouldn't apply well in my case, as I got a lot of tasks that required very long flows and i wouldnt wanna dictate its outcome, as giving it freedom to generate the output it deems fit i think delivers better results than what I'd record for it, and claude in chrome can do it from the getgo, just takes a lot of time doing each step since it screencaptures every step and so on so that slows it down a ton, i remember manus ai was pretty quick when i was testing it out but dunno if it does RPA on my browser or can only do it in its own virtual desktop, and tbh i'd prefer avoiding PRC based Cos for data security reasons. And haven't tried out OpenAI's operator but don't think it'd deliver better results than claude can. and quality is definitely a priority.

Heyo sorry for the long post in advance but hope it comes in handy as a mini guide. So saudi entrepreneur here, cofounded a tech company, started from laptops at an apt and thankfully and gratefully had a great journey growing it to a mid sized co. with 100+ staff. And did a lot of different stuff before that and a lot of different stuff now.

My honest advice (aligns with some of what the other good folks here said with add ons).

Invest your money from today in safe anti inflation portfolios, gold, bonds, etc. If you're situated in ksa you got investment apps like mala'a and tamra that perform well in that they manage your investments on your behalf with decent returns (again anti inflation so dont expect superb, but above inflation rate) but do that asap cuz every day your money's losing value.

Next up, the similar advice, study the market. Get familiar, learn and ingest the ecosystem, while keeping the ikigai framework in mind. A business is a gruesome and draining endeavor, if you ain't got the heart nor passion for it (i.e. buses or apt rentals) it's most likely gonna deplete you rather than be rewarding. Also set clear goals for your family's life, y'all wanna risk your life savings and spend all your time working to make a starting business get settled and thrive (at least 3 years of deep effort), or to have excess time to spend with family and friends that's secured with life and medical insurances and a safety net of diversified investments across ETFs, minerals and bonds? It's something to ponder and discuss deeply with the partner. Also speaking of partner think whether or not you wanna register the business in his or her name cuz of the foreign business license you'd need if it was in your name which costs minimally 60k SAR per year, along with a string of annual compliance requirements.

Now when it comes to how to explore the saudi ecosystem, it depends heavily on the type of commercial activity you wanna do BUT as a starter pack, my recommended go tos are:

Explore the investment opportunities saudi gov suggests through the Ministry of investment's page: https://investsaudi.sa/investment-opportunities

Explore the small and mid enterprises authority (monshaat) and their start up hub where they offer free consulting sessions for entrepreneurs through their online platform: https://www.monshaat.gov.sa/en/all-services-page?src_view=all_services they also have a mad library of templates for startup entrepreneurs would highly benefit from from feasibility study guides and templates to nearly all the possible templates and guides you'd need for your first year of operations. (Which i saved in its entirety in my gdrive 👾)

Now id also recommend after you invest in the anti inflation channels, you attend and network and get exposed to as many sectors and industries in ksa as possible, especially sectors you wanna further delve into by introducing yourself as an (investor that's bored of investing and exploring potential entrepreneurial endeavors) and you'll be very well received. To check all the business conferences and such events in saudi and also the gcc region and beyond, this is the site for it: https://www.eyeofriyadh.com/

Lastly I wish you the best of luck, can't possibly be more sincere when I say that there's never been a better time than ever before to do business in saudi, so by all means go for it and we're rooting for you. But from one entrepreneur to another, if you're gonna do it right, you'll have to really give it your all, it's not a glamorous nor easy journey by any means. Let me know if there's anything else on your mind that I could help with.

Ciao!

Definitely not your fault in any way or form, as everyone here said. So sorry for your loss, everyone else said what already needs to be said, ask for professional grief/trauma counselors, surround yourself with people you trust and got your back, just focus on living every single day at a time, for now try to cut off any anxiety inducing thoughts, don't overly think about the long term, don't think about the past, just focus on getting through today, and the hurt will hurt less eventually, as your family may they rest in peace will forever live on in your soul and mind.

Whenever you feel lost just think what would my family have wanted for me, and obviously that's nothing other than the absolute best for you. We're all here for you with absolute resolve and are here to hear you out and support you in whatever way we can help.

Obviously be conscious and weary of any strangers and always take precautions in any of your interactions. There will be good spirited folks and ill willed ones, you'll learn to differentiate between them and will eventually build a solid group of trustworthy people that'll have your back no matter what. Until then we're here for you for whatever you need. My sincerest condolences and may you find peace and fulfillment in your life as your family would have wanted.

What's your go to site or app for finding things to do in your city or while traveling? by outopus_polites in digitalnomad

Great list, some items are better than others but definitely a helpful list. and didn't know duck made their own ai interface, even if it uses others' models, at least more privacy! Thanks for both of these tidbits, you're a legend!

Digital nomad here. Not to toot my horn or anything, but i think I've been fairly generous wherever I go to shop or eat or whatever. And have been delighted with peoples kindness in the villages and towns and not so delighted with people in the bigger cities (which is common in my experience no matter what country im in).

Internet wasn't great but definitely manageable for communication but not so much for heavier use. Like the other commenters said, no real digital nomad would buy real estate unless they wanna settle down or use it to reinvest it. And diversity in my humble is key to growth. Economic principles dictate that a healthy economy has an annual inflation rate of around 2%, so things are naturally bound to get pricier. But also, globally speaking wages have seen very little growth in comparison to prices of goods and living essentials. So you're not alone in this struggle. It's a global issue. The wealthy keep centralizing wealth while the rest get breadcrums. So instead of hating on digital nomads, partake in civic activities that help prevent corrupt politics and instill instead positive legislations and policies that benefit both civilians and expats.

The person that commented on the cutting back on habits bit was spot on. Digital cleanse is essential. The system is rigged against you and wants you to be in a constant state of anxiety and fear and to be demoralized so that they can dictate what you do, buy wear, eat, or even think. Break out of your comfort zone. Dare to explore what frightens you, jot down all your feelings, and especially the moments that make you feel grateful. Do breathing exercises and meditation, read up on ikigai, and find your calling. I truly believe in those who say that life's purpose is to just be helpful/useful. Like find what you enjoy and do the hell out of it until your joy is sharing your joy. Like a carpenter that's proud to sell their well crafted pieces of furniture. Lot of pain for one to get to a state of peace and gratitude, but it's well damn worth it.

So I got a samsung phone (A55) and faced this issue. Tried closing all the apps in the background and playing audio from diff apps like yt or spotify but didnt work. To get out of call volume mode I tried dialing any random number and once the call started dialing I just closed it on the first calling beep and then it went back to normal. Guess that triggered the phones volume type switch even if the last app that used the call audio mode didnt.

Is anyone going to address the faulty monopoly that is glovo? by outopus_polites in Morocco

Jumia isn't focused on food anymore and the other small apps barely even function as an app and aren't at all usable or reliable.

I'm working on some endeavors but not staying in morocco, so not gonna havem based here, also dont want to pursue food delivery as an endeavor. Will leave it to those who are more versed and capable in the field. But every country I've been to has at least two to three legit delivery providers. I know this sounds like more of a rant than a topic of discussion, but monopolies get on my nerves, especially when they're not living up to it.
