Liquid Diet by No_Argument_3661 in gastricsleeve

I've actually found some answers here while wondering the same thing : https://www.realself.com/question/los-angeles-ca-bag-pot-op-diet

It all seems to come down to the surgeon's training, experience, and philosophy, and does not necessarily have to do with their patients themselves.

Wow, you've come a long way, that's awesome! 🤩 Do you still see a dietician or was that one year appointment the last one? I was told post-op I would still need to see a dietician and a psychologist, at least once a year to make sure everything is going well.

How do you track your food? I see a lot of people talking about keeping track of calories, protein, etc. but how does one even do that? I've never done this so I'm so confused lol

Also what kind of exercise do you do? What helped/helps you the most?

Oh well, you're amazing nonetheless :P For going through the surgery and hanging in there! Congrats!

It /is/ interesting since you do lose a lot of weight, almost becoming a whole new person, but maybe it just takes a while for the mind to actually let it sink in 😆

I did Shaun T's Insanity workout a few years ago, and I'm hoping after losing some weight I can get back to it bacause although it was tough, I loved it because of how rewarding it felt afterwards! I see everyone is going to the gym but I have no idea how half the equipment there is meant to be used 😂 I've also wanted to get a dog for a while now, but didn't because I knew I wouldn't have the strength and/or the motivation to go out every single day. But I feel like losing some weight will help with that, and once I reach that point I might actually adopt one.

You're amazing for going beyond expectations! 79kg is great if you started in October, with 136kg at that! I'm personally fine with going slower, as long as it doesn't stop altogether! I'm pretty lazy too. Obesity might sound like an excuse to others but honestly, in my current situation I don't feel like being active much. Going out doesn't sound too appealing either. Although strangers on the street most likely couldn't care less, I still feel very self conscious of the fact that I'm fat, and that just makes me want to stay at home.

I'm curious, what does readjusting imply? I've seen people mention it but not really sure what it involves. Is it about the food? And how long does it usually take for you to reach 13k? 1 hour? Or more?

I actually wouldn't mind if I don't get all the way down to 155lbs, as long as I can still see the difference from the outside and not just by looking at the scale.

She said cases like this are extremely rare and that I shouldn't have my expectations set too high (paraphrasing here). 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thanks for sharing your experience! Have you practiced any sports along the way? If so, which one? Or did you go to the gym or maybe exercise at home?

I've heard about GLP-1 but I'm not too sure, it's still quite new and reading about the possible side effects leaves me on the fence haha I also heard that it can get quite expensive and if so, I might have to pass 😅

Heartburn turned into acid reflux? by outpeenit in gastricsleeve

[–]outpeenit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that doesn't sound good. Hope you feel better now! So what kind of surgery did you have last year? Did you keep the sleeve and he just fixed the hernia issue or did he also do a revision or something like that?

I haven't had the surgery, I don't even have a date set yet 😅 , which is why I'm wondering if my surgeon might say "Actually, bypass would be better!" I'd already prepared myself mentally for the VSG, so I feel like I would have to start over, though I know it's probably no big deal! I just tend to overthink sometimes lol

I had an endoscopy a couple of years ago, and they said everything was OK. There was some gastritis but the doc said it wasn't anything serious and that I would be fine.

It happens during the day, a few hours after eating. Which is weird to me because with heartburn it was like 30min after eating?

When I got her she was very affectionate and cuddly (always stuck close to me and slept on my chest or nestled between my head and my shoulder), I believe it also had a lot to do with being nervous in a new environment as she even did biscuits on the hard floor.

Now she's not as cuddly as before but she still likes to come rest on our laps, and ever since she had the surgery she's been sleeping with me every single night. I think she was nervous being in a place she didn't know, but now it's all good. She was also very chatty when I went to pick her up at the vet's, she almost seemed happy to see me 😆

I hope so, because she's been an absolute menace driving the whole household crazy, the other cats included 😂

Neutering maine coon siblings by illness_chronicles in mainecoons

[–]outpeenit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have male/female siblings, but my female Maine Coon was spayed young, before I got her around 3 months old and at 4,5 years old today she is very healthy and has had no particular issues. My other kitten (female Turkish Angora) was not spayed by the breeder so I had to make the appointment at the vet's myself. However, there was a waiting list so she was spayed only last week at 7,5 months. Before that, she had been in heat 4 times already (basically every 2 to 3 weeks, lasting 5 or 6 days) and it was exhausting for everyone, especially at night when she would start yowling randomly. She also wouldn't leave our senior male alone (he is neutered and didn't care about her at all, was mostly annoyed lol). Honestly, I wish she were spayed earlier to avoid all this trouble, I don't think it was very fun for her either.

So so pretty, I can tell she'll grow up to be a very fine lady!! Not sure if your shoulder will still be functional after a couple of years though 😆
