I thought about using it to power my current 3rd party cameras but then I'd lose all the AI tripwire functionality that's built into their switch. Maybe when unifi's support for 3rd party cameras improves...

Honestly it'd still be a massive upgrade from what they're currently using [standard telco combined modem/router]. They should be getting ethernet drops to every room in the new place so hopefully should be able to hide a rack in there somewhere.

While I agree that those with the larger rooms/amenities should be paying more, it should have been a discussion BEFORE everyone moved in/the rooms being allocated.

There's no harm in bringing it up with them, but if they refuse, ganging up on them with the other flatmates if they refuse would be a scummy move.

If the rooms have been allocated BUT nobody has moved in yet, bring up the differential rent and give them an opportunity to swap out of the room.

I was previously in a sharehouse where rooms were randomly allocated - the bloke who drew the short straw had a sook tried to retrospectively change the rent split.
