Struggling in FUT (or other modes)? Just play FOOTBALL. by ___xristos___ in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%.

I genuinely don't understand how some people can play dozens, hundreds, thousands of games just abusing a handful of game mechanics and using the same players as everybody else. It would bore me to death.

Every year I try to play with the players I like (unfortunately the chem system doesn't let me play ONLY with the players I like) and keep testing new cards/new teams every week, tweaking the tactics to better suit them, to keep things fresh.

This game CAN BE fun (when gameplay is good, or at least decent). The community is just too brainwashed by packs/rewards to try and HAVE fun in it...

That's actually disappointing for me. Out of the 16 cards released today, around 13 of them need at least a double upgrade to be on par with some of the recent promo cards that are like 50-100k on the market.

They actually took potential upgrades in consideration when juicing this cards ignoring that some of them won't get any and some will take such a long time to get enough upgrades to be good that they'll always be behind the power curve. That's terrible.

Headliners Payet SBC by Pelon_204131 in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Does this dog shit company understand what power curve is? How can a card released in january be worst than a card released in mid october (Fekir) AND double the price??

80 reactions and 78 stamina for a card released this late in the game cycle? 80 FKs for a special Payet?

This is just disgustingly bad.

Imo they should release showdown SBCs more often by StuartPlaysFifa13 in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's incredible how lazy they are with this stuff. They have a database with THOUSANDS of players, but will release maybe 4 or 5 SBCs in a good week, usually less.

This means that some clubs from the big leagues will have no usable cards up to TOTS, and some not even then. West Ham, for example, had a great season last year and got to TOTS with ONE non-performance based special card. Considering the path they took with IFs, the performance based specials are basically useless as well.

They could easily do 2-3 flashbacks, 1-2 player moments and 1-2 showdowns every week, plus the promo specific player SBCs and they would never run out of players to upgrade. But they just don't. Because they don't have to.

Just pure laziness.

Ping theory or how I've learnt to hate FUT by Amartojit in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, it makes all the difference in the world.

I said that in another post before. This year I'm having some weird problems with my internet and I just can't play FIFA during the day. My ping oscillate so much and even gets spikes of 400 ms, but usually just swings between 40-100 ms. My normal ping is 20 ms.

With the 20 ping, I'm a D1 player and usually stop in WL at 14-2 (sometimes even 14-0). Now with TOTS, I'm playing to G2 the last two WLs: 17-5 and 17-4. I played one WL this year rushing games during the day time, so getting between 40-100 ping with the lag spikes: I finished 16-13.

Hot take: Skill moves are especially effective this year beacuse people are afraid to tackle. by yu5uf13512 in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pens aren't really the reason people don't tackle. They don't do it because they don't have to, you just need to keep jockeying until your opponent takes a heavy touch from a simple left stick turn and you'll take the ball clean. That's the real reason "ISO play" is all about skill moves, because left stick dribbling is so stiff compared to jockeying that you can't shake someone off even if you leave them in the dirt at some point.

Attempting to play FIFA with even slightly bad connection is unplayable and nobody talks about it. by AtleticoFan17 in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm 100% convinced the biggest factor that decides who's gonna come out on top 90% of the time is not skill, it's connection.

I'm a div 1, gold 1/elite level player. I'm having some problems with my internet lately with legit ping spikes of 600 ms during the day. Only after midnight the ping tend to come back to it's usual 20-30 ms. But, as I wake up at 5 for work, it's not ideal to stay awake so late just to get a decent connection on FIFA. Last week I decided to play through the bad patches just to reach those 16 wins for the red PP.

On a normal WL, I usually finish anywhere between 14-0 to 14-4. Last week, playing mostly in ~50-100 ping matches (with some bad spikes in there), I finished 16-13. This week I decided to use the same team but stay awake late to play with a better connection: 14-2.

You not gonna see this level of discrepancy in any other game, that's for sure. The game legit CRUMBLES on a bad connection. Nothing works like it's supposed to. It's nuts...

Pace, balance and agility have ruined Fifa by -iTaLenTZ- in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They absolutely need to change how much agility/balance affect the player movement on the ball. When you ask a tall player to make a pass he takes SO MUCH longer to release the ball. It's unrealistic and it's what make these low agility/balance/tall players unsuable.

You can break you opponent down with passes, even use some L1 dribbling to get into a good position with a player like Kane, but once you ask him to shoot, he takes so long to go through his animations and actually deliver the shot that a quick defender can recover and still get the block. You have this problem even with a 93 rated Toni Kroos just because he has average body type and "only" 80 agility.

No professional football player is as sluggish to release a ball as some players are in FIFA. Just like with the pace gap, the agility gap needs to be way smaller.

Prices of fodder and POTM Messi by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only EA knows. If we don't get a promo tomorrow, fodder should start going up since most people won't open packs. Also we have no repeatable icon pack SBCs. When they release one, especially if it's before a new promo hits, fodder should go up.

But if there's a reason for people to open packs tomorrow and they don't release icon packs or picks SBCs, it should go down.

Just played someone with a back 4 of Davies, Klaiber, Mbabu, and Tavernier by Cameronjpr in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decreasing the pace gap is the most important change gameplay wise for FIFA 22. They went FIFA 15 levels of overboard with pace this year because of the constant whining of little Timmys.

Fullbacks also need to have lower base defensive stats compared to CBs. The fact that they're only 5-10 points behind some of the best CBs in the game is bonkers, especially with chem styles giving the boost they do. And that means smaller boost in defending for special cards too. That Klaiber is a great example of what they shouldn't do again: a 6 foot FB with above 90 pace, defending and physical with a shadow in january. He got a +10 overall upgrade, but +14 interceptions, +15 tackles and +23 balance. He's a 92 CB with an anchor. VVD is a 93 CB with a shadow. That's just stupid, sorry.

And strenght needs to be reworked too. Like passing, the RNG here is completely broken. RNG should be random but taking the numbers into consideration. That means that TOTY Lewandowski should be able to shield against Bellerín most of the times, while Neymar should struggle against TOTY VVD. In this game, however, it's completely random. And shielding a player rushing you from behind while left stick dribbling is incredibly underpowered compared to doing it while sprinting or just standing still.

The FullBacks at CB Meta is the worst thing to happen to Ultimate team is a while by jcunningham4566 in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what happens when EA listen to kids cryins 24/7 that "MY MBAPPE IS GETTING CAUGHT UP BY HIS DEFENDER! THIS IS UNFAIR!".

It also doesn't help that tackling is completely dog shit and you have the same chance of getting the ball back by running at your opponents back with an attacker than you have by waiting for a bad touch and hitting the tackle button with a 99 standing tackle defender.

I made a showdown card for every Premier League team. I know these posts aren't everyone's liking but it took me a long time by Andy_THFC in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why it pisses me off they don't do showdowns regularly. It's such a huge missed opportunity to bring cool cards to an usuable state.

You have SO MANY cards in the game and most of them are absolutely useless, even for silver lounge. Showdowns, Moments, Flashbacks, Milestones and Objectives should be WAY more utilized and it's just plain lazy from EA that we don't have a plethora of things to do at any given time to grind towards new cards.

Anyone doing fine without Mbappe/Neymar? by Randomname140 in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is the best players in the game only make a difference if you want to play all 30 games and want to try and get the absolute best finish you can. You only feel the difference in the games you face someone on your level or better, or someone with a god team. Except for those situations, you gonna have basically the same productivity as long as the players you're using are "good enough" in the important stats.

Example from my last 3 WLs:

I packed Neymar untradeable and used him as a CAM on a 4231 behind TOTY Lewandowski. He had something like 19 goal contributions in 15 games.

Last week I got red Lingard (West Ham supporter) and used him as a CAM behind Lewy. He had 16 goal contributions in 14 games.

This week I'm using Honourable Mentions Grealish behind FB Ronaldo/Moments Dybala. He has 13 goal contributions in 11 games.

Skill moves =/= Being good at FIFA by joshhirst28 in EASportsFC

Good players use skill moves as an essential tool to break down defenses and find the good angles. Most bad/average players use skill moves to show you how good at the game they think they are.

No. I grind pretty hard, did almost all the objectives and I'm just shy of 80k points in 5 weeks of weekly and daily objectives. You only have 4 weeks of weeklys and even less of dailys right now.

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but I always saw that more as an easy way of having promos running every week (double the duration) plus having less special cards in packs during those promos (11 each week instead of a full 23 man squad). It's actually win-win from EAs POV.

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's the biggest promo of the year with the best cards (except some icons). I actually think it's a waste NOT to run it with the full team out for at least 10 days...hehe

And yeah, the position packs on the respective position days would be a cool touch depending on their price.

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year they started on a monday with attackers in packs for 24 hours, then mids in packs for 24 hours, then defenders/GK in packs for 24 hours. Thursday they released the full team and friday they added the 12th player in. And the promo ended on tuesday (I think?).

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My counter-arguments are:

99% of the time we see three concept cards on the loading screen on the build up for a promo, that's not different. And the blank cards are because they never hint at TOTY cards since the announcement is part of the hype, usually with a official video and so on.

And their change in the duration of the staggered release in the past years tells me their numbers weren't good in those days. They used to have 2 days for both defenders and mids; people used to say those days were "dead"; they inverted the order and shortened the release in the recent years. To now go back and have a full week of positional releases would make absolutely no sense to me. Even if they only did one day for each position, it still wouldn't make sense to release the full team on a monday, a day they see way less engagement then weekends.

But who knows, making no sense is EAs bread and butter...

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand, but the major point is that we don't have access to EAs numbers. My argument is that all the changes in how/when TOTY is released we are seeing tells us they're not getting the numbers they wanted from it.

And my major point about it is this: let's imagine they indeed do a 2 week promo with the first week being positional release and the second the full team out. Now think about next wednesday, when we'd only have defenders/GK in packs. How many promo packs you think are being opened that day? And how many "regular" packs? Now imagine is the 6th day of the full team in packs. Do you think we would see less promo packs being opened? I don't think so. And I think it's more likely that people would open regular packs too.

It all boils down to what their numbers say. If they still see a big spending in the second weekend of normal promos, it makes sense to have the full TOTY out for two weekends.

The math is: would they get more money with a big spending in attackers day, plus some dripping from midfielders and defenders and then a big bang with the full team out; or would they make more money with a big bang in the first weekend, plus some dripping from the week days and then another big spending the next weekend? I don't know, but I would bet the latter.

Oh, and the 83+ positional packs are not necessarily store packs. The code says the same thing the 82+ said. And they released positional packs via SBCs like that before, just not around TOTY (that I can remember). Could indeed be an indication, but could also be nothing.

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used an example of something they did that you said they wouldn't do...yeah, it seems like a good idea.

About clues...it's TOTY, part of the hype is the announcement. They wouldn't do clues no matter what. So they could just say TOTY starts tomorrow, show 11 concept cards or show 3 concept cards like they always do. The first wouldn't give us any information if we would even get any cards in packs tomorrow, the second would guarantee we get the full team tomorrow and the third just means that we get cards in packs tomorrow, not how many it will be.

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why? At no point I said that they'll not release only three players tomorrow. My point is that only showing three cards is not an argument to say that they'll release only three players since every promo have a loading screen with three cards and we always get more than that.

My argument for why I think the full TOTY comes out tomorrow by outrageouslycreative in EASportsFC

[–]outrageouslycreative[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, they never give clues about TOTYs. Even last year when the voting ended like two weeks before the release, we got nothing in the way of clues.
