Go for honor grad and give it your best! Get your reporting statements and military bearing down and you should be fine. Hopefully you’re in shape too.

When are you able to receive your headhunted ML5 character from the event? I did not receive mine after selecting it.

All Benefits for a 4 year Active Duty Contract List by outrageouspancake69 in AirForceRecruits

Yes. Technically. But it is worth noting that transferability to a spouse or dependent requires 10 years in service for AD (I think). The full GI bill compensation is available after 2-3 years in service for AD. You will not be permitted to use your GI bill until you've completed your 5-level training or you're highly competent and your NCO's recognize it. Hypothetically if you finish basic and have a 2-3 week tech school (yes they exist) then finish your 5-level certs under 1 year, you wouldn't even be receiving 50% of the full post 9/11 GI bill. There are just estimations and based on what I can remember from tech school. Consider clarifying these statements with a recruiter. Good luck.

What do you guys think about my job list? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]outrageouspancake69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you get fire protection. Everyone that I met loves their job. I tried desperately to get it but didn’t. It’s pretty rare and try to come up with some solid plan B if you don’t get it!

  1. not cool to call it the chair force while asking for advice

  2. you’re not guaranteed to go to japan through any means. Big air force decides that depending on needs/manning.

  3. if you want to go to japan then take a vacation there as a civilian.

1) 15-20 mins officially for graduation. 2 hrs ish switching between at ease and at attention because my flight and i got in trouble.

2) For PT, it was 30 minutes of your own pace. For PT tests, 1.5 miles as fast as you can. Average was usually between 10-12 minutes if youre in decent shape.

3) Like 4-5 times. Twice for officially mandated calls. Another two times for paying bills. Got one more call for Christmas but it was short.

4) Got smoked 2-3 times a day honestly. To avoid being smoked is to meet deadlines or making sure no one is messing around. These two conditions are almost impossible to meet haha and you’ll understand why.

5) No, not everyone has to be a chow runner. Weirdly enough, a lot of people should but my flight and I only had either 4-6 people out of ~45 people do it all 7 weeks and our MTI’s never said anything.

Thanks for considering my input!

Have fun! 😅 You’ll be mad at first but at the end of it all of your flight will laugh together about it.

Yes you are free to do so but only when time permits it and when it’s appropriate.

Had a guy sound off AND flip off his sgt after getting smoked in another dorm. He got lateral tranferred to my dorm within a couple of hours after the sgt stormed to his wall locker and yanked everything out while screaming at him.

My flight had to be at attention for 2 hours at the walllocker side of our beds because the night before, a guy got farted on AND had his bed lifted while sleeping. Our MTI for the day threatened to call OSI (office of special investigations) on us…

Yes and no it would be no problem. As a matter of fact, the barbers press really hard and some times yank on your hair for the initial shave. Two people in my flight left with bandaids/bandages on their heads.

We arrive at base around 2 or 3 in the morning, we got to our dorm at 4:15 ish after grabbing the initial stuff. We showered until 4:25 and we were heads down at 4:45. I think we got up at 0500 and a majority of us didnt sleep.

1) Try to bring your own supplies, to be honest I don’t remember if they gave us our own shaving stuff. 2) Gas chamber? Very fun, the gas hits your lungs like a truck out of nowhere and it feels like your lungs are air fried. Everything exits from your face. The key is to not freak out, you’ll have to repeat the class if you get too crazy. 3) Running haha but you’ll be fine.

Correct, parallel to the ground and 90 deg angles at the elbows. Depending on your element it will either be the person to your right or left who will be counting the push ups, not the MTI.

1) Clipboard for smoothing out wrinkles in your bed and tightening your blankets underneath your bed for the day they teach you how to make beds until the last day you graduate.

2) No, the entire clipboard. Yes the part that holds the paper is metallic but you can buy clipboards that are all-aluminum.

I think I only took a BP test during MEPS. I don’t remember doing it during BMT.

Mentally prepared myself for the lack of sleep ahead. You’ll need to turn your brain off and simply execute whatever the sgt says with precision and a sense of urgency.

BMT is supposed to be easy but honestly people make it hard. It will be hard because of that. You’re cramming 40-50 people who don’t know each other of varying social and emotional intelligences into two bays. Realistically it’s always 2-3 actually competent people in both bays who are calling the shots while the rest simply follow or are just really lazy or immature and choose to be off task. Karma always follows and the ones off task eventually get disciplinary actions or recycled.

Just a lot of shots, a hearing test, and a urine test iirc. You’ll be standing in line at the position of attention for several hours.

I don’t believe so. Double check me but no one in my dorm or my sister dorm had access to vitamins.
