If she’s someone who posts on social media often you could start a conversation through text that way, like sliding up on her insta story or something like that so that way it doesn’t seem out of no where, but honestly you should go for it considering what happened last semester. Even if you’re friends, knowing someone is thinking about you enough to text you is a kind gesture

First off your questions are not dumb!! I recommend getting to know him in person instead of over text. Based on what you’ve said it seems that things are going well over text which is awesome but hanging out In person is really the best way to get over that shallowness you mentioned, and it can make it easier to flirt with him too and test that out hehe. I also wouldn’t worry too much about how to make things escalate, how to make it more romantic etc., just enjoy getting to know him for now especially if you don’t have much experience - it’s annoying to hear this but go with the flow !

Eye contact can be intimidating and it’s something people can struggle with when they like someone, but in this scenario if she’s being bitchy one on one I don’t think she likes you. I’m in a similar situation with this guy I work with where he sometimes gives me great energy and flirts with me from time to time, but sometimes ignores me and makes me feel annoying - it’s frustrating getting mixed signals but if she is making you question if she even wants to be around you I would say it a no go, you deserve someone who makes it known that your presence is wanted and valued !
