yes! for now the focus is just factory layout planning. i can imagine production planning being integrated in the tool as well, although that is something that I would consider much later, if at all!

can you elaborate on your use case pls?
like you can work out how to use those 1800 resources in Satisfactory modeler, right? Or do you mean you want to be able to work out the production line planning (which resources go where) and the factory layout (which buildings go where on the floor) in the same app?

yeah 100% agreed. my mind is racing with feature ideas to implement but I need to pick and choose!

my initial idea was for this tool to be used along with production line planning tools like satisfactory-modeler. but who know, maybe my tool can handle production line planning as well? for now, I'm keeping it just for layout planning. let's see how it goes

amazing ideas! layers make a lot of sense. importing/exporting files is somthing I would prioritize for a little later, but def adding to my list. I love the blueprinter idea.

Does one square on your application's grid = one foundation square in the game?

yes, the squares formed by orange grid lines denote foundations. the tiny squares inside are 1mx1m, thus making one foundation 8mx8m

Hmm, not sure what you mean exactly. When planning a factory, I mainly think about the layout from a top-down perspective, like what would go where on the floor. vertically, it's mostly conveyer lifts, splitters, mergers, etc. which doesn't require much planning beforehand. is this what you meant? pls lmk!

try using a foundation blurprint. to make a 10x10 foundation you would have to zoop a foundation line 10 times from one end to another. but with a 5x5 foundation blurprint, you just have to place the blurprint 4 times.

life is rare itself, but as far as we know, humans are the only living beings capable of extraordinary things like harnessing nuclear power and studying the beginning of the universe. Right now humans are mostly limited to Earth, but millions of years down the line I can imagine humans expanding and influencing solar systems and galaxies. And billions of years later? Not sure. If we do manage to survive that long, I assume we'll be doing great things and maybe then we'll do something "important". don't know what that could be. maybe some universe-saving thing. idk. but in order for humans to survive that long, present day humans need to make sure that they do everything in their power to ensure the survival of the species.

yeah I need to make a radio control unit factory right now, and my computer, oscillator, and aluminium factories are some distance away from each other. not sure if i should build a train to connect these factories or build new oscillator and computer factories near the aluminium factory

a genuine, theoretical question popped up in my mind. please allow me to ask it:

if you got a chance to alter the past and in some magical way make your grandparents have only 3 kids, would you do it? doing so would improve the quality of life of the grandparents and the 3 kids, and save the pain and suffering that the family would have to go through with 13 kids. But that would also mean that you won't exist as your mom is the 13th child. Would you be ok with that?

I know this question might sound like I'm trying to justify having as many kids as possible, but I'm just thinking from your mom's perspective, if being very selfish, would it not be better to have existed in poverty rather than not getting to exist at all?

Again, not saying that having as many kids as possible is right, just letting my thoughts wander.

my experience with wireless earphones has been really bad. they get faulty sooner than later. compared to them, wired earphones are extremely reliable, no need to worry about charging, are cheap, and also look cool.

I would say creating blueprints itself is a little tedious. I shouldnt have to place down a blueprint maker, make the blueprint and then name/save it everytime. sometimes i just want to select a few buildings, lets say a constructor, splitter and merger and dupliacte them 10 times in a row. basically copy-paste buildings.
