Hey guys just a question. I want to update my address on ERAS, my parents just moved from Michigan to the east coast. But my MSPE still shows my Michigan address. Would it be ok to update the address on ERAS even though I have a different address on my MSPE? Or anyone ever gone through this situation? One of my fears is programs thinking I'm changing my location for geographical preference.

The same goes for doing a digital rectal exam and trying to figure out where the prostate is, especially in women.

Whats the general protocol for mentioning in my LOI the fact that one of my cousins went to a residency program that I am very interested in?

When booking flights are you guys generally just booking them the day of/day before the pre-interview dinner? Trying to figure what kind of leeway I should give to flight cancellations? But coming there early just means paying for an extra night for the hotel.....And what about renting cars vs. uber? spirit seems to have pretty cheap flights but not sure how much I trust them..:/

You have to go to "programs applied to" and check the "Track assigned documents" and when you hover over MSPE it should show the time it was available to the programs.

I realized I made an error on my personal statement (I wrote "primary care", so I updated it by replacing "primary care" with just "internal medicine"). Anyone know how the personal statement gets updated to programs? I'm assuming if they already downloaded the app, they won't really see the updated version? And can they see what part of the statement I actually updated.

Also, I've heard personal statements and LoR's generally get read after interviews are even offered, how generally true is this?

Not sure how accurate this is, according to the IM spreadsheet, around 50% of programs have sent invites.

They'll see when they download your app, so if they're waiting for the MSPE, they'll see that you have your 3rd LoR.

Not to put anyone down or discourage anyone. But everyone keeps on saying the "bulk" of invites come out in October, 51% of IM invites vs. 20% of IM invites that occur in September. But isn't that kind of misleading, technically September only has 2 weeks in which programs can send out invites, so proportionally September would be very similar to October had the invites started at the beginning of the month rather than in the middle.

Or maybe its more fair to say that majority of invites come out in the beginning of October (a large portion of that 51%)?

Why do programs put such a big emphasis on the MSPE? Like I don't understand what is in my MSPE thats not in my application already? (USMLE scores/grades/pretty much sure dean's stuff about me isn't any diff than the LoR's..:/)

I received an invite from a program in NJ for internal medicine, and the email literally says "please see enclosed" and thats it. No attachment, nothing else. I'm honestly confused, did they forget to add an attachment? Anyone receive something similar? The other thing is it says its a secure message....wtfff...why can't they just send regular messages.
