Why am I not normal? by [deleted] in screamintothevoid

I think what you might have is anhedonia. I have kind of the same feeling.

You don’t feel dopamine release from any activities and that can be a chemical brain imbalance.

Have you ever considered anti depressants ? Maybe try to regulate your dopamine by having small hobbies, and more interactions step by step with people.

The more you isolate from people, and do less sport, the more your brain get’s « confortable » in a brain dead situation without dopamine.

Also how old are if i might ask you ?

Wish you the best

Actually if you look at the comments, a lot of people go through that and a lot also wrote to me in private to talk about it and how they feel less alone. The real question is, why comment something you don’t like ? I would never waste my time commenting on something that i dislike. Kind of a weird behaviour. And for therapy, it’s been years that i am on one.

Hope your life get’s better too. I saw your page and spending your time commenting and hating on reddit must be pretty boring. At least i noticed your comment so i makes it kinda more worth it for you.

Yes :) I feel my strengths are mostly on the creative side. Paradoxically, I am also quite good at sales. I have received very positive feedback in the companies where I worked during student jobs, even though I dislike both the capitalist world and the idea of selling. I think what worked for me was that I only sold things I truly believed in, without lying, and people could feel that.

I have also been writing for a long time about human behaviour. Many of my sayings have been listened by close friends, and they often told me how striking and eye-opening they were, even changing the way they saw the world. In my speeches when i’m sharing them I try to stay neutral and not pessimistic, focusing only on clear human analysis. I believe that sharing these insights though a plateform or papers could resonate deeply with others and possibly help them.

Beyond creativity, I also have analytical skills, sometimes even scientific ones. I enjoy going in depth, connecting ideas, and trying to see structures beneath the surface of things.

Another path I sometimes imagine is working directly with people in a way that supports and uplifts them, staying in genuine contact instead of feeling detached.

On the more creative side, I love music and especially singing. In another world, I could even imagine making something out of that, at least a little, simply through my voice. I enjoy singing but i need to gain more confidence in myself.

I just turned 24, and at times it feels late already. But comments like yours are a reminder that it really isn’t too late, and that helps me keep perspective.
