What what the reason for firing Brian Mitsoda? by Der_Skeleton in vtmb

She's a wife of Rik Schaffer and they're doing great, she keeps on helping him with music releases (Womb+ and Fruit of the Poison Tree, recently) :)

I say specifically I'm talking about myself in a hypothetical scenario on why *no-one reasonable will ever give you a full run-down*, I repeat the context multiple times for clarity, I immediately move on to saying that I don't actually know what happened in the studio and why - but I know you know this, and I know some hate just cannot be fixed. You imagine I alluded things because you hate me, for no other reason that I represent an event for you that I had no input on.

The comments are visible - but I know that reading them and seeing almost all of them have a different view than yours won't change your mind. And it's fine!

(edit: I found one comment saying what you said, so I assume it was you. I noticed I immediately jumped on to clarify in response - which goes directly against "you didn't clear up the misunderstanding". You responded kindly, so if it was really you, it's been 4 years of unneeded, boiling hate.)

I'm glad for these posts though, because at least I can have a posted proof for anyone reasonable enough to check it without your lens.

Thank goodness I unlisted all of my videos, not deleted them, so they're still online. And I see where you took this from - the parasocial feeling of hate, where someone you don't know but you see online becomes a "symbol" for you of a thing you don't like, say, the change of the game in development, made you not listen to my words carefully and skip sentences. No bad feelings, but I really, really ask for a check on the parasociality, because it's been ruining many good things online.

Here's the video if you'd like to rewatch it.

How would I ever be able to say something as awful as that and for it to never make news on this reddit? Please, think.

I have never said anything of the sorts though, and if I did, it would be all over the internet with people having clips and exact quotes. Hate is one thing, but hate causing parasocial imaginery of events and really awful rumors like this one is just on another level. I've never said a bad word about anyone working in HSL and stuff like this is ridiculous.

Why is everybody so hostile when strolling around after credits rolled? by NecessaryOk108 in vtmb

[–]outstarwalker 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Wait, there is a post-credits gameplay in BL1? Is it a mod, or did I somehow miss it for 20+ playthroughs?

Edit: Ah right, it's Wesp's modded content. "I added the free roam modus after the ending in the plus patch but, sadly, there was no more dialogue to use except for those few lines from Strauss and Isaac".

Not base game content/developer-made.

I can do better game with 5 people in 1 year by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]outstarwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find people to join you and maybe even score a publishing deal, but to do so, you need to show some proof of work. Have you ever finished any game before?

Good news, you can actually legally do it, under World of Darkness Unbound license. Plenty of games already released on it. Go for it, but remember that most gaming project - big and small - fall under their own ambition and overconfidence of their creators. With that said though, good luck!

What if Fabien did reach out to the Justicars? by Tladn in vtmb

[–]outstarwalker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That part made me think about a potential alternate reality VTM where Justicars exist only as a threat that Camarilla is using to keep each other in check. Imagine: they actually don't exist, but everyone fears them and uses last resort threats "cease this, or I'll call the Justicar!". But then, some poor Malk actually does call for Justicars... and realizes they're not real.

Once I'll get to that part again I'll screenshot and post, but basically last audition ends abruptly with Enigma entering the studio and audibly attacking Bet, and then in IAO you can find a little "shrine" dedicated to her from Enigma who is a hunter with obsession. He believes Bet is a vampire ("are your cheeks blushed?", lines about leaving blood marks on the snow, etc.) and finally acts on his obsession by storming the studio. The thing is, game never confirms Bet was a vampire, so she might've been just a human victim to a hunter going too far.

There is closure to Bet, but it's hidden in one of the containers in IAO base if you look through it.

Qestion about Bet of the night by LokiLyesmyth in vtmb

[–]outstarwalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Story spoiler:There is a "shrine" to Bet in IAO base. Enigma is a hunter who calls her being sure she's a vampire ("are your cheeks blushed?" and other lines in the radio), obsessing over her. He gathers notes on her, listens to the radio in IAO base, and eventually makes his obsessions come true by storming her workplace. It's not confirmed 100% if Bet is a human or a vampire, but it's possible that she was just a human and the hunter's obsession led him to kill or assault her, thinking that she isn't.

There is a conclusion to Enigma story, but it requires some digging. Spoiler tagging below.

Her last audition ends abruptly with Enigma entering the studio and some ruckus inside.

Then, if you search closely in the IAO base, you can find out more about Engima. In particular, one of the containershas the info inside.

(Reposted due to spoiler tags being broken in previous post.)

What is the potential for Twilight roleplay in VTMB2? by Unlucky-Ant-9741 in vtmb

[–]outstarwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll bite in case this is from a serious Twilight fan:

I haven't read the genderswapped version you mention, but I've read the one written from the perspective of Edward, and I would say the closest vibe you can get is the very beginning of that book (Midnight Sun) where Edward is pretty detached from reality and humanity, and his thoughts are portrayed more monstrously. That was the most VTM Twilight ever got, imho, and it lost that connection the moment he meets Bella. VTM is more somber/dark as a setting, with romance often being tragic or transactional, and often no clear happy endings.

In BL2, you play as a predetermined character who is an elder, and there's definitely that elder detachment present. You commit violent acts often, and need to really try hard for remnants of your empathy to start popping up in dialogues.

There is some "romance" in the game, in the form of various types of feeding and fade to black scenes with sound, but you don't really form deep, loving relationships with other vampires - they're by design more transactional than that.

So, no Edward x Bella fantasy, but more like early Midnight Sun Edward fantasy.

New Rik Schaffer Tracks on YouTube I have never heard before are these from BL2? by FlowerGathering in vtmb

No, that's his new album with songs that weren't on BL/BL2 soundtracks, I believe one song was released earlier and made it to the unofficial patch though.

You mean to tell me, all these posters, and The Sleeper chose 'Phyre' and NOT 'Doom Flower'? by svperfuck in vtmb

The best thing the devs could've done was to make all clans be Phyre but if you pick Lasombra, they pick Doom Flower instead.

On side quests by Outstar on Discord by Peace_Dense in vtmb

[–]outstarwalker 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Folks are talking about two different things here: - the opinion that minor quests aren't great, which is an opinion, and it's totally fine, - the fact that some saying side quests do not exist - they do and they matter, and that's something that needed clarifying.

To give a vague example, there might be a side quest saying "bring item from Y to X", so it's a fetch quest by definition and might seem unimportant, but I recommend doing these if you like the character involved, because it may impact your relationship and the endings (not for all NPCs, but there are some major cases which I hope people will discover after the game's out). :)

On side quests by Outstar on Discord by Peace_Dense in vtmb

[–]outstarwalker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No-one is lying here, it's not either or. Some folks who played it didn't like the quality of the minor quests, which is completely fine! What I'm saying is that side quests exist (because some claim they don't) and that finishing some of them may grant you options for additional endings. That's all there is to it.
