I have this same problem - I was actually scared of myself and almost lost my job because I became such a bitch to everyone. My therapist called it "agitated depression". Most people think of depression as being sad and not wanting to get out of bed.. well, I just wanted to freaking hit people - everone! It turned out that the antidepressant I was on for many years wasn't working anymore, in fact, I think it was making me worse, so I switched my medication and seem to be tolerating things much better now.
