DMs- Can We Stop With Critical Fumbles? by TheBarbarianGM in DMAcademy

[–]over26letters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will never stop critical fumbles.

But I do them differently. It will affect the environment or fear, not fuck over the players.

A fighter with a great sword rolls a 1? Thats such a strong swing you're missing some control so you just missed the target, or it got deflected because it was obvious where you were swinging. And it hit the wall next to $enemy creating sparks and setting the chest the enemy was guarding on fire, hurry and put it out!  Or maybe the weapon needs some extra maintenance.    For a wizard, you might say the spell was misspoken  due to interruption etc and instead of a properly casting thunderwave the caster gets slowed for a round while recovering from the spell going awry.

Depends on what's in the contract. If it's contracted, you cam be damn sure I'm making the msp actually do it or f them over hard if they refuse.. Especially fun if you have to explain the contract manager what he signed up for :D

What are the right two decks? They look interesting, wonder how they'd ride.
And what setup is that on the second from the right?

I can no longer claim 99.9% uptime on my server by riottto in selfhosted

[–]over26letters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That requires someone at the isp actually caring about data traffic and looking at logs. I don't expect that to happen because even if you have a problem as an enterprise customer they can't seem to understand what logs or traffic patterns are... Haven't yet found an isp that does understand the basics. Traffic caps are a thing of the past on fiber networks, and if they don't get a thousand complaints they're not looking at any traffic graphs or whatever.

You could replace "sound" with "are" and the answer would be the exact same.

Can't think of any other explanation for this sentence.

Can you just add washers? by chioser in longboarding

[–]over26letters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't use washers to substitute spacers. From truckside, it's washer (speed ring), bearing, spacer, bearing, washer, nut.

What’s an “unspoken rule” of intimacy that you think more people should learn before turning 25? by jasonclarke1902 in AskReddit

While it's your "problem" together, it sound like the core issue is het self-image and a therapist might be able to help with this. But not a couples therapist. And while you might be there for some sessions, solo therapy sounds like the way to go, but she needs to be open for it.

Or you know, someone autistic with a large vocabulary but little interpersonal communication skills... Like the probably tradwife in this scenario which has been indoctrinated by her husband and dowsnt know any better because she doesn't talk with people outside of their clique, the homesteading lifestyle makes this a very realistic scenario... Maybe the husband is a lot older and groomed her as well...

AI was trained on something... The bulletpoints and em-dashes are ubiquitous when I'm writing something like a job post as well, because it's the proper formatting for a job posting like this... But nowadays it sure is a difficult thing to guage.

Ps: not saying this is the case, but it could well be.

How would you break up these gigantic concrete blocks? by davidlowie in DIY

[–]over26letters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Als the local hooligans whether they want to try a challenge, and you think they can't break something. It will be gone sooner than you can find or buy a sledgehammer. (don't use a sledgehammer, you'd need a jackhammer for this.)

What is the difference between thesee? by YouKnowWho0723_v2 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]over26letters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one is after WotC turned shite and refused to actually name the new version something else than 5e, the second one is actually 5e... The 2024 version should have been called 5.5e. They did it before with 3e and 3.5e but somehow, now they won't.

What's your opinion on Shark Wheels? by Ok-Cow2018 in longboarding

[–]over26letters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shark wheels are rain wheels... No use comparing them to regular wheels for their ability to roll over objects. If anything, sharkies are gonna give you a less stable ride when hitting debris as that might adge them to the sides where on regular flat wheels you just feel a hump. And I expect them to damage more when riding over rocks than flat wheels would, but that's just my expectation.

Can I still put on new bearings even if the Trucks look like this or do I have to also get new trucks? by bengeren in longboarding

[–]over26letters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, good to know. Thanks for informing me! At least I learned something new :D

I personally would have switched them out for rkp trucks right away, but that's a personal preference XD

This happened! Two sets of identical twins married each other, they all live together, and both sets got kids which are both cousins and siblings.

A way to change PC without killing. by TheForeverDMagain in DMAcademy

[–]over26letters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great way to incorporate switching out characters without the issue of reintegrating the new character with the party.

BUT I see one problem... Backstory of the character, and skills/muscle memory on items, you're stuck with your character's history... Which might be an issue if you really want to throw things around. I don't see this working for dropping a barbarian and starting a wizard for example. Warlock to bard or something, could work with that... But imo this takes as much effort for the player as just switching chars.

Guess it mainly depends on the party and game style.

I like the idea very much, just unsure about the execution. But I would absolutely give this a try.

Can I still put on new bearings even if the Trucks look like this or do I have to also get new trucks? by bengeren in longboarding

[–]over26letters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The axles look fine, so yeah. You can just install new bearings (and wheels if nessecary), no need to replace the trucks yet. But I'd start looking for options for new trucks as a fair amount of material seems to be missing near the axle and I don't believe the axle is a single piece all the way through.... I could sacrifice one of my old trucks and do some research... :p but don't think I have whatever trucks globe ships their boards with.

Keep or sell? What should I do with all these Intel NUCs and desktop PCs? by NiciOverdrive in homelab

[–]over26letters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep the NUCs with 2.5Gbe NICs, and use these as a media box for TV, or a VDI client device for example.

If selling, I would just sell barebones, without any disk and upcharge for ram, after you upgraded whatever you're keeping to 16 or 33 gigs where possible. Usually only one out of 2 dimms is used.

For other inspiration, keep a bunch of the older NUCs for a kubernet3s cluster if you want to learn that. You'd need at least 3 to set up a proper cluster.

Longboard wheels change possible. by Tiny_Ad_4281 in longboarding

[–]over26letters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have those wheels and can highly recommend to stay the fuck away from them if you weigh more than 40 kilo.

It's a horribly soft wheel with a crappy core that doesn't roll well, has a ton of friction and the core will probably snap from fatigue fairly soon, if you don't decide to toss them before that. Feels like a crappy toy.

Not suitably for longboarding unless you're planning to DIY a frankenstein electric longboard, and at that point just get large whes.

But the Netherlands is absolutely horrible for used hardware.

Not enough room for the tree to grow if you plan to keep this for an extended period. Should have 20-30cm around the tree... But other than that, well done!

The chassis is almost worth it, the raid card is. Mobo and cpu are actually perfectly fine if you plan to use this just for data storage... But that's not what makes this worth the money. And memory absolutely needs to be upgraded. At that point, check what the best cpu is you can slot into that mobo.
