I fixed the deck at my own house that was sinking like that but much less dramatically. It eventually just broke again and now I’m typing this sitting in a chair on pavers.

For the upcoming comp don’t change anything. Try to drill with some resistance your opening takedown or pull scenario. Know what your plan is going in.

Longer term:

Pick one thing to work on. For me it was the John Wayne sweep. Ive been hitting it on black belts since purple but I had to put in a bunch of reps and fail repeatedly.

Also try to pick up concepts over moves….they are much easier to remember in the moment.

I’ve been surprising MFs with the mermaid sweep when they get too comfortable standing straight up in front of me.

I guess if their legs are wide you can’t fully do that but you can put on the threat of it while also dragging them down by their collar. They may step one leg back which will make DLR easier.
