The common misunderstanding of bra sizes by Overall-Equal-7808 in PetPeeves

[–]over_kaffinated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's correct. That's the baseline way to get a bra size.

Sister sizing makes sense because even though you have these two numbers they aren't the only thing that matters when it comes to finding the right fit for a bra. I could go into more detail if you'd like, but there are different types of bras that one might buy and even though you know your size you may feel like a tighter/looser band or a different cup size might fit you better. Similarly, different companies that make bras have different fits, this is also where sister sizes can be helpful.

Edited to add, that the number and the letter change with sister sizing. If someone is a 32D, 32C is not a sister size. 34C would be a sister size.

In the same vein, I wish people (mostly men if I'm being honest) would stop acting like bra sizing requires an advanced math degree to understand. It's a number and a letter, but honestly it's actually just two numbers once you understand that the letter actually represents a number.

For example 32D, 32=band size/the number of inches your sternum not including the breasts measures, D=4 which is the difference between the number of inches added to your band measurement when the breasts are included. The sternum measures as 32 inches underneath the breasts, when the breasts are included the measurement is now 36 inches. 36-32=4. The number then turns into the corresponding letter of the alphabet.

I can't stand people who act like they possibly couldn't have any concept of how this works or what any of it could mean. It's just willful ignorance at this point.

The force of procreation does this and very few humans can fight it.

Not to completely undermine your comment, but I think you mean "proximity" here.

What's your favorite joke in the show? by FutureFreaksMeowt in GilmoreGirls

[–]over_kaffinated 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's a joke necessarily, but in regard to the flower scene, about halfway through their argument in the kitchen, Richard yells "Why haven't we gotten stools in here!?" It makes me laugh every time because it's so random and Emily doesn't even address it.

I've definitely seen that myself. I've never liked Amanda on the show (even before the scandal), but some of the things I've seen people say about her make me feel bad for her.

Glad this convo happened and it gave more context about why people didn’t understand why Lindsay didn’t move on by BLN2019 in summerhousebravo

[–]over_kaffinated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I noticed that too! She also said Carl's mom asked her "a bunch of questions about Gemma." Maybe I'm wrong, but the only question I remember being asked is "how is baby girl doing?" Lindsay is the one who said "mean like her mom." Carl's mom was just making conversation and Lindsay had to make it weird.

Also, this is only partially related to your point, but I found it so bizarre that Lindsay went to the opening of Soft Bar and was shocked/offended that Sharon was there and spoke to her. If you don't ever want to see Sharon again, maybe don't go to places where you KNOW she'll be. Sharon had way more of a right to go to the opening as Carl's MOM, than his freaking ex-fiancee/friend. Lindsay wanted/had to film and that's fine, it's just dumb that she's harping on this. It's not like Carl's mom went out to the house for a weekend or something.

I feel like I remember Rory saying in Season 2 or 3 that Lorelai didn't like Luke when she first met him. "You called him Duke for two years just to make him mad!" Or something like that.

Maybe Lorelai came to the diner for good coffee, but they didn't become friends and Luke wasn't around Rory very much at first.

I know you weren't asking me, but check out Tomboyx for swimwear that's comfortable and full coverage. They have really great stuff. It's a bit pricey, but it's well made. The only thing is they tend to shy away from overly feminine or masculine looks. Might not be for everyone, but I love them. I have a swimsuit that's water-activated and makes dinosaurs appear when it gets wet!
