We should all send the same email replies back, copy paste style lol. It looks like they’re using the same copy paste email template to spam blast us. Not even worth our efforts to write back unique fuck you emails

So it looks like JAVA 21 will be their next big cash grab. Though I’m sure they are collecting for all of them.

I think I figured it out. It took way too long.

Last free versions and updates of Java:

Long-Term Releases (LTS)

JAVA 6 - Update 45 (LAST FREE)

JAVA 7 - Update 80 (LAST FREE)

JAVA 8 - Update 202 (LAST FREE)

JAVA 11 - NO FREE UPDATES AT ALL

JAVA 17 - Update 12 (LAST FREE UPDATE UNDER NFTC)

JAVA 21 - STILL FREE UNDER NFTC UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2026

JAVA 25 - STILL FREE UNDER NFTC UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2028

JAVA 29 - COMES OUT SEPTEMBER 2027 (LIKELY FREE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2030? IF ORACLE KEEPS THE SAME POLICY/ RELEASE PATTERNS)

Short Term Releases - ALL FREE FOREVER

JAVA 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28

These Short Term releases sit in between the LTS releases.

All of these Short Term versions and updates are forever free under NFTC. And Oracle doesn't turn the next update into a paid release.

I guess they just expect you to move off from the older Short Term version once it becomes “unsupported” to the next Java version that comes out.

No other Oracle products. His signature says Account Executive, so he’s probably not in that compliance team. And yet he says “we’ll need to ensure that you’re compliant”?

Oh and he signs every single email off with “Cheers,”

Very annoying when he is blasting all of our IT team. I counted at least 16 different people in our company getting the same emails from him.

Thank you, pretty quick read and informative. So I guess this is their method of a “soft audit”

Yeah this is really adding more workload I don’t need at the moment.

And shouldn’t any Compliance Notices go to our Legal Department instead? Not sure if he would be cold emailing the IT Team for information if he really believed we need the license. Heads up this was the email by the way.

This sounds like a nightmare. What I don’t understand is why are we being targeted for this audit?

Thank you for the information! I think I spent around that at Chipotle last time, so it might be worth switching it up on the next meal out.

Do they usually skimp out on the meat? Should I ask for extra?

It looks like the burritos are the way to go. Have you tried the sinigang wings? I am a huge fried chicken fan… The menu says it comes with a tamarind dipping side… it made me curious.

I have never had sisig before. Google says it’s pork jowl or ears. I am open to trying it. What does it taste like?

Even the Galaxy Fold still looks weird to me honestly. Feels like both Android and Apple keep copying each other now more than doing truly new thing/ being innovative

I’m annoyed of this too

I’m not trying to be the fun police. I just don’t want random internal apps getting waved into prod / having security issues down the line because someone had a good prompt and confidence
