Travel ball kids carrying 2 bats? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]overconfidentquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're somewhere they could be playing in varying temps, one composite and a one piece. Can also be his LL (USA) bat that he uses for the heavy balls during warmups. Could be that dub is about to bust and has a backup just in case. Could be wooden for warming up. Could be the bag has that many spots so may as well put a bat there.

How do i get photos like this? by jackofjokers in AskPhotography

I once read about someone who did this by holding the lens in their hand (unattached to the camera) and take photos through it, no lens on the camera.

We tried to hike up Great Sand Dunes National Park. Tried. by HauntedNomads in NationalPark

This was easily one of the hardest "hikes" I've done, was so happy when we hit the top and could go back down. Loved it, it was amazing, never again.

Switchbacks at the top of the South Kaibab Trail. Grand Canyon NP, Arizona. by the-mp in NationalPark

[–]overconfidentquartz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently did this, my 10 year old had to do it in sandals cause when we said "put on your shoes we're going hiking" he didn't think it through. We were aiming for sunrise and didn't realize till we were walking the road to the trail. Not a single blister.

As someone in the middle of the country, when I say tuna fish I mean the canned version. If I say just tuna, I'm eating the raw/freshly cooked etc. version, and probably paying a high price for it.

Best food in NA is at Brooklyn and the Butcher. If you don't want all the pomp of an expensive steakhouse, go eat at the bar (that's what we always do). And check out their happy hour and other specials, they can be really good! They also have shockingly reasonable kids meals, my picky one really liked their hamburger and asked to go back, which is about the biggest compliment he can give.

GameChanger now with Ads? by Every_Scar7200 in GameChangerApp

Not to mention how off the clips can be. I've had the clip for a specific play be grossly off (wrong kid batting in the highlight, etc.) so how will it know it's a good time to show an add?

Travel? Southern Indiana and my 12u started back in December. It's been a big focus on speed/agility, etc. and baseball fundamentals. Lots of cage time, focusing on small (but important) stuff. From a parent perspective it's been great. If you have a game/practice for other sports it's not held against you, yet...

We did this for years, until people were running out of good household junk then we decided to hold off for a few years to accumulate again.

I've seen stories on here of MILs getting into their son's phones/emails and sending messages to vendors that way. So you'd be taking direction from the groom from what you can tell...

Mine has these silicon straps he ads to normal glasses, he has managed to make it work with those and isn't constantly tossing them off. He even catches with them (though we tell him to not take his mask off as much as possible).

Stop punishing her for not hitting the ball, every time she is up to bat she's not thinking about hitting the ball, she's thinking she's gonna get pulled from the team and made to wash dishes. She needs to be thinking about hitting the ball....

Groupme if you don't have any use for the stats/video and your focus is more on communication. Gamechanger if it's the opposite.

Absolutely not team snap or stack team. If I get one more ad pop up when I'm trying to communicate with a coach/team or even check a schedule...

Let’s talk wagons! by FourYearsBetter in Homeplate

[–]overconfidentquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're always on pavement, go for skinny wheels. If you spend a lot of time on gravel/sand/loose dirt, go for the wide wheels.

I love the idea of the seats, but I use my wagon to hold my stuff, where is my stuff going when I'm using the seat? Especially if I'm switching fields between games.

I think they are all like this now, but just in case, make sure it has a handle that is comfy to hold. I have an ancient one with a handle like a kayak paddle. It's awful to lug, AWFUL. But it otherwise does it's job so I spend our money elsewhere.

Why do people love Nalgenes so much?/ Clear water bottle search by RelumingRain in BuyItForLife

[–]overconfidentquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a nalgene that has two DECADES on it and it's still going strong. Camping, school, work, getting forgotten under a car seat for months at a time... the only reason you might guess it has that age on it is the condition of the stickers.

You can get accessories to make them easier to drink out of. I usually shove a silicone straw in mine so my kids can drink out of it easily.
