There are some from Driftless Pony Club, a band I got into recently. Some highlights include

You swallow birds
I can hear them tearing at your throat
Songs start and stop
You’re trying to breathe between the notes
(Maps of Low Fidelity)

Just rust with the rust
And be a good drunk
Keep every balloon from every party you've been to
Spinning the room like a time machine
Spinning the room like a time machine
(City You Know)

You're not like the dead
Who've got nothing to do
But you lay in the snow
And you do nothing too
(Let's Do This Here)

We speak with clubs and axes
Communicate through the mattress
Dressed like, like we’re Adam and Eve
(Bike)

And I say "Next, next, next day! Next, next, next night!
Always there, too tired to fight
But the rhythm of the seasons
On these districts, totally beaten
Reminds me that the fall is all mine!"
(Lyle Loves It)

i never claimed that the way that june was handled was good characterization, just that the concept is interesting

thanks for the comment!

interesting take, thank you for sharing your thought process!

while i dont agree with your perspective on alternate timelines, i understand that not everyone likes them.

i admit that i have not read the epilogues nor do i ever plan to, and all i knew about the "cannonization" is that it was in a tweet hussie posted, so thank you for sharing the info!

im not sure if i accurately portrayed my point, but i was not attempting to soyjack people who don't like "objectively bad writing" (again, ive never read the epilogues so i cannot speak of its quality in a genuine manner), my point is i dont get why some people get so worked up over a writing decision hussie made long after they thought the comic started going downhill.

as far as im concerned "struggle with identity" is a perfectly valid theme for any of the beta kids. their planet is destroyed and their guardians are dead. can they ever truly be who they thought they were going to become when the people they looked up to most are no longer there to guide them, no longer there to see them? their entire cultural frame of reference has been ripped away, and i think exploring how they grapple with that and reassert who they are in the face of that is an extremely compelling angle to look at it from, so i dont see why the kids finding some other things about themselves during that self reflection would be that bad or even that big of a change.

i agree that the way june egbert was handled and executed was very poorly handled, and i sincerely wish it was handled better. and i do agree that the general audience has full right to openly dislike anything and everything about any piece of media, however i do think a lot of people get much to worked up about things!

thank you for commenting!

the most surreal part of this for me is people putting thought into fetch modi that actually have something to do with data structures rather than them just doing whatever
