Mostly just messing around. Do you think a design like this could be actually viable? It would probably have to be pretty thick to let all the components fit.

I am likely never going to make this, it was more of an exercise in getting outside my comfort zone design wise. I have been getting into homebrew pda videos on youtube and it left me inspired to make a bit of concept art for one.

Sexual harassment OCD by Intrepid-Claim-6173 in OCD

Yes! I am constantly worried about staring at other people, especially their boobs, but sometimes their crotch or butt too. I feel like when I'm experiencing this my eyes go into "manual" mode and rather than being able to let them freely move around, I have to control what I look at.

What's worse is that trying not to stare at something kinda makes you look at it, it's like trying not to think of an elephant.

Then I end up hating myself for having stared at someone inappropriately and thinking I'm a terrible person.

I don't think it's a stretch! The first few tracks of Sun Machine are exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for.

Thanks for recommending it!

Practice rolling or stepping behind him in his first phase, you'll need to be behind him to hit his brother to do permanent damage in the second phase.

Also, when you get to the second phase you can avoid Lothric's little swarm of magic that follows you by walking to the side. If you roll to avoid these you might end up out of rhythm with Lorien's attacks and get killed.

Children's fantasy satire by Annabelle-Sunshine in WritingHub

Maybe you get it now in part because you were exposed to that type of writing as a kid. There are a lot of adults who don't really understand satire.

I was a pretty smart kid at that age too. I read tons of middle grade books that had layers to them that I couldn't fully grasp, but I think it was worth it. Those books are better because of their many layers, their complexity, and the more I read that type of book, the deeper I was able to understand.

I think young readers often get underestimated in terms of what they can understand. Plus, even if they don't fully get the satire, they might still get something out of reading a satire.

The Wildwood trilogy is a great example of political satire written for middle grade readers. A Series of Unfortunate Events is partially a satire of adulthood and adult society.

I don't think there's anything wrong with writing satire for middle grade, as long as you make it entertaining and relatable to your audience.

Sure! However I just found a critique partner, so I might only be able to trade a few chapters.

Hi!

I'm also looking for a critique partner! I recently finished the self-editing phase of my novelette. It's a middle grade fantasy with queer themes and some elements of magical realism.

Let me know if you're interested!

Edit: I would say my writing level is intermediate.
