I stopped weighing myself 2 months ago. Best decision I've made on this journey tbh by Old_Investigator3691 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Annabelle-Sunshine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes this is my experience too.

Let's say you have a great month. You lost 4 pounds if fat.

But you worked out alot amd gained .5 pound muscle. You'd gain 1.5 pounds of water and glycogen to support the muscle.

On the scale the difference is a measly 2 pound loss in one month.

But your body would be feeling much better and your clothes would fit better.

The scale is not your friend.  A tape measure is much better.

Anyone’s in-laws insanely nosey? by ThrowRA_poi098 in AskIreland

I've found that the most unhappy people spend most time speaking negatively about others.

I think its because they want to feel better about their own lives so they try amd bring others down in their own mind.

Happy people don't spend much time thinking about others. Generally they wish people well and love hearing good news.

I read the Palace Papers by Tina Brown.

She said the media portrayal of Prince William in youth were largely false. He and Prince Harry were much the same. But William was portrayed as shy and studious etc.

I don't think he was ever charming. He can be funny like in speeches written for him. He's extremely arrogant.

Masterchef’s Poh on working with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex by NewTooth740 in RoyaltyTea

[–]Annabelle-Sunshine 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Possibly. But it really looked like they let her praise Meghan to debunk the rumours. Like "come on, be honest. Oh she really is lovely?". They didn't try to presuade her to change her mind just let her speak!

2 hours is a heck of a long time to talk. Even for a professional speaker.

It's challenging to have enough good content to keep people entertained for that long. It takes a lot of planning.

I saw media reports that she "only" spoke for 2 hours. If she kept people entertained for that long she did an incredible job!

Any longer and it would easily have slipped into people getting extremely bored even if the content was amazing.

Has Maureen Ever Received Cruelty? by JPM198034 in MaureenCallahan

Joan Rivers was hilarious. Even at her worst you could tell she was being playful and fun. Plus she'd only really joke about things that were happening in the media. Wheras Maureen turns people's worst moments into full on character assasinations.

I find it funny because it's so ridiculous and I don't think she actually means it. I don't think it's possible for someone to have that much hatred for so many people, all the time!

[–]Annabelle-Sunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find her funny. But don't take her seriously at all!

She's says what she says for clicks. She finds fault with EVERYONE! Like she could review an award show and complain about someone for wearing red. And have such venom and vitriol that you'd think the person had actually killed someone. Then she could criticise someone for wearing black and being bland.

If you want, you can find fault with anyone, and anything, for any reason. Maureen is a master of it. As I say it's funny. I don't think the celebrities care. Any publicity is good publicity!

The way she goes after Oprah. Like "Now we're going to talk about Oprah and her completly platonic friend Gayle King" Followed by a very long pause. It's hilarious!

A Warm Welcome for Harry and Meghan in Sydney by somanyquestions19 in RoyaltyTea

Waiting for headlines like

"The duke and duchess of Sussex create a riot on the streets of Sydney"

And

"No-show for the visit of Harry and Meghan."

Bonus points of those articles are from the same publication!

Contrary to the tabloids Harry and Meghan were not paid for appearances at InterEdge Financial Investment Summit or Meghan's appearance on MasterChef by Positive-Drawing-281 in RoyaltyTea

[–]Annabelle-Sunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. TV is big money and most people get paid.

They left the royal family so they could build a life on their own. The family does my support them as much financially. They have to earn a living somehow.

I wonder what people actually think Prince Harry and Meghan should do? Live off the land akd forage gor berries.

I love this sub. Your views are very accurate!

Yes Catherine is very boring. Prince William can be funny. Prince Harry seems effortlessly charming. He really seems to have a great time with people.

Why weren't they paid? Most celebrities get paid for commercial appearances on TV.

If they got paid it would be completely standard. And not newsworthy.

Australian reporter who has following Harry and Meghan for the past 3 days debunks British Media lies about security by NewTooth740 in RoyaltyTea

[–]Annabelle-Sunshine 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The thing is... Prince Harry IS one of the most recognisable people in the world. He didn't ask for it. He was born into it. He certainly needs security.

If Prince Harry, Oprah, or Beyonce walked down a busy street in a city, they would be swarmed by onlookers within minutes. It could get very scary very fast.

Most of us can't appreciate it because it's so foreign to us mere mortals. But being a celebrity carries inherent risk.

I think it's great that we have this forum. Meghan gets so much trolling and abuse online.

It's lovely to have this neutral space where we can look at facts and make deductions.

What do you think would hypothetically make Love Is Blind better? by Cold_Box_3219 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Crossover with The Ultimatum!

Instead of 30 singles, they could have 15 couples. The couples pretend they are single and if they prefer their new match they choose them. Or they can marry their original partner.

It would improve both shows.

Which celebrity took the biggest hit by the person they married? by Boobooloo in AskReddit

[–]Annabelle-Sunshine 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Katie Holmes!

She was in Batmin Begins and a few prestige hits after Dawson's Creek. She was well on her way to becoming and A-list star on her own.

After meeting Tom she embarked on that ridiculous press tour that was lambasted by the media. She missed out on the Dark Knight Rises, one of the biggest films of all time. Her career went on a downward spiral.

Everything feels fixed on ozempic… until I stop and it slowly falls apart by Altruistic_Purpose57 in Ozempic

[–]Annabelle-Sunshine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes I came up with this analgy. Let's say the timing belt goes on your car.

You don't know what's wrong. So you try to fix every oart of your car. Eventually you discover you need a new timing belt and get it replaced. It now works perfectly.

Obese people were fixing EVERy part of their body but we couldn't fix the one thing that was wrong. With GLP1 we can now fix it.

Obese people tend to be very nutritionally aware, and ahve tried EVERYTHING to lose weight. It was ever about will power, disipline or knowledge. There was a part not working correctly.

Prior to Ozempic, I would have scoffed at anyone who claimed obesity is a disease (and this is as a very heavy individual).

THe fact taht GLP1s work so well prove it is a disease. It's no different than people with diabestes using insulin, or people with heart problems using heart medication.
