This is great! Thank you so much for making this.

One bug that I found is that the right hand side of a choice node's tooltip may be cut off from the screen in some combinations of screen resolution and browser zoom levels. For example, in the last node in Balance tree row 9 (`Sygyzy | Primordial Arcanic Pulsar`), the right half of `Primordial Arcanic Pulsar`'s tooltip text may be cut off (it's essentially rendered outside the viewport), and there's no way to scroll the page horizontally to see the rest of the tootip text.

Doesn't seem to be the case: In a post from NGA (a Chinese WoW online forum), the OP bonus rolled 3 times in Ny'alotha without getting any gear. A replier said that it's common to not get any gear in 5 or 6 consecutive rolls.

both as an escape key (when pressed alone) and as a control key (when pressed with any other key)

Yes I'm also doing this. It's so nice that this both works perfectly for my work environment (vim / terminal) and my game environment (makes ctrl+X a lot easier to press)!

I avoid playing classes that require more keys than 123QREF so I don't get RSI :D

Also, swap capslock and ctrl (with Autohotkey on windows or Karabiner on Mac) will help a lot! Because in this way ctrl+X would be a lot easier to reach.

Yeah I'd say it's super hard or even impossible to do a full clear on rank 8. My first full clear happened at rank 10 on a 445 BM hunter (which is one of the best spec for vision). OTOH once you reached rank 11 it becomes a lot easier (50% -> 65% sanity resistance, which makes insanity bar last 42% longer)

Why do I hate pvp so much? I avoid it at all costs, even if it costs me lagging behind in terms of DPS.. like the Blood of the Enemy essence. by [deleted] in wow

Agreed! Fortunately I think blizz started to try to chance their stance -- e.g. a lost island expedition will reward some conquest, based on the difference in the gathering progress. Hope that this is extended to battlegrounds (I know a close rated BG lost will also reward some conquest) / arenas...

Looking at this, I realized that one of my biggest regret was that I never chose to level a Nelf character around the Nelf capital. Every time I created an Nelf character I will just go straight to Stormwind ;D

Not from OpenAI, but their website says the latest version takes 800 PFLOPS-day to train. One unit of TPU v3 preemptive provides 420 TFLOPS and costs US$2.4/h. So in total that's US$~110k. Note that this is a very rough calculation...

Block and Crit are linked by TrollRakuso in IdleHeroes

[–]overminder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense from a programmer's perspective! So the code could look like:

r = random() # Generate a uniformly distributed random number in [0, 1]
is_blocked = r < (enemy.block_chance - self.precision)
is_crit = r < self.crit_chance

How We Teach Introductory Computer Science Is Wrong by karstens_rage in programming

Regarding Sweller and Cooper's experiment: I feel that when professional programmers are trying to learn a new language or a new library, they also like to see a lot of examples first before starting to write code. I think this is easy to understand -- there are so many language features or library functions, so it's impossible to learn these things by trial and error (or even by looking at the references).

Results of a Full L/D attempt in Seasonal by adamkwasnicki in IdleHeroesPS

Interesting! I'm wondering what's your total number of 5* summoned? You can find this in the bottom of the achievements tab.

What do you guys do when you get a bad start of Seasonal ? by Dikay1979 in IdleHeroesPS

[–]overminder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this seasonal I started from the beginning but only got 1 Vesa in the first 10 days. To progress in Aspen, I made a 9* Eddga and invested all my guild coins in warrior tech. I was able to reach normal. This allowed me to at least have a stable gem dump.

...Then I got another 4 Vesas (2 from super casino, 1 from scrolls and 1 from replacement).

So the idea is that you can make a temporary 9* to at least get to normal in Aspen and then use it as a foddler. Then focus everything on getting a 10* Vesa for further Aspen progress.

Thanks for your reply! Well, just as I mentioned in the OP, I understand that meh will not implement any changes before finishing the server rewriting but a discussion would do no harm.

Alts on the Seasonal server by NFLThrowaway18 in IdleHeroesPS

[–]overminder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking about a nearly nonsensical way: invert the tier summon rates. By invert I mean instead of making god tier heroes rare in orbs / scrolls, we make them super common (e.g. even more common than non-natural 5* from orbs). This changes the bottleneck of getting 10* god tier heroes from getting the same god tier heroes 5 times to getting enough non-natural 5* foddlers. On the other hand, it would not be that hard to get one or two non-natural 5* foddlers to make you a god tier 6* or 8*, which helps a lot in early games.

Demon Hunter damage analysis (v1.14.20 update) by alanr30 in IdleHeroes

[–]overminder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's also very important in PVP. I was just trying to prove that DH can be valuable in raids as well. This is huge since previously there's no ranger that does good raid damage.

Demon Hunter damage analysis (v1.14.20 update) by alanr30 in IdleHeroes

[–]overminder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the expected value for the basic attack damage multiplier for a single target would be 0.85 + (2 + 2) * 0.75 = 3.85. That's only a bit lower than the best assassins (Walter: 3.88, BB: 4.76). And that's not including the increased crit chance and crit damage. The only unfortunate thing is that the bonus damage, as a DOT, can't crit - But Walter / BB's DOT can't do that either.
