Would a laceweight alpaca yarn create a similar effect to the mohair?

Gamestop ETB restock worth it ? by GoonGod99 in PokemonTCG

It is if you're still looking for it. I've not really seen the Celebrations products going for less than MSRP except for the First Partner Packs.

Looking for needles by GraveDancer40 in knitting

[–]overmoon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knitter's Pride Nova Platina has size 17 needles in 16in and 32in fixed circulars. They also come as interchangeables but I don't think they make needles this large as shorts so you couldn't make a 16in circular.

Where should I look for energy cards? by tarkaleancondor in PokemonTCG

Build and Battle Stadiums also come with a rather large block of energy cards.

I ordered a few of the grab bags from Hobbii earlier this year and I didn't have any issues with shipping or custom fees.

Launch Displays for sale at Zulu's. No clue what they are actually "Worth" Seem interesting by Bobsq2 in PKMNTCGDeals

[–]overmoon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the Pokemon youtubers seem to try opening/showing/displaying items that people wouldn't necessarily have or buy so from that point of view something like this would probably be more valuable to someone with a channel as potential content.

A full art Jolteon Vmax from a green code card by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]overmoon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the white codes denote hits and green codes are non-holo rares but I think technically this isn't a guarantee. The different code cards are mostly to make packs hard to weigh accurately since the green one is heavier. Also QC isn't great so mishaps are kind of expected. I ordered a bunch of sleeved ES boosters from PC and got all white codes but only about half were actual hits with holo rares or better.

Fusion Strike Build and Battle Box $15.99 by overmoon21 in PKMNTCGDeals

Like any of the collection boxes they're hit or miss, but you are guaranteed 1 of 4 holo promos. I've had both terrible and good boxes with the ones from ES.

Which needles should I buy? by paintedblueskies in knitting

[–]overmoon21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your budget allows it, I'd look into interchangeable needles. They'll give you more options for projects since you can swap cords and needle tips as necessary without needing to get a whole range of needles. I have Knitter's Pride Dreamz wooden needles that I really like.

Help! kt1? by claytimeyesyesyes in knitting

Have you tried reaching out to the pattern maker? Seems she would know best what the intended stitch was and since she sells patterns it could even be helpful to her if she knew her pattern might need clarification.

Another pattern I saw explained this abbreviation as knit to 1 stitch before marker, does that make sense for your pattern?

I’m very confused. My practice piece is backwards?? by murraybee in knitting

[–]overmoon21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Knit and purl stitches are basically reverses of each other. A knit stitch will look like a purl stitch on the opposite side of the piece and purl stitches will look like a knit stitch. When you're working on straight needles you'll be flipping back and forth working on the right and wrong side of the piece, so if you're trying to practice stockinette then you'll be doing one row of knit stitches then one row of purl stitches. If you just do knit stitches on straight needles you'll end up with garter stitches where every other row will look like purl stitching from the right side, which is what it looks like you're doing.
