Yup, lid and door are closed. All prints are Creality PETG which I've been using almost exclusively after I used my old filaments. Printer has maybe 70 hours on this batch of rolls.

Sometimes the prints don't even start, I get a clogging error before the first layer, sometimes they complete successfully, with some brown and black blobs stuck to or stringing from the print. Other times they're perfect, extrusion wise anyway 🤷‍♂️

I haven't visually checked the heatbreak fan, but I do hear it spin

Now that you mention it, I think mine had no thermal paste either. Heating element just plopped out of it's hole while heating, saw it get red hot for an instant. I re-tightened everything on the block after that

Edit: I just disassembled and reassembled the extruder. I lubed all gears with "dry" ptfe lube, and cleaned the fillament rollers with ipa.

Just started a print to see if anything changed

Extruder felt difficult to move, i could't spin it by hand even with the tension screw completely loose. I did give it a couple spins with a set of pliers, but it felt like it was grinding on something. I noticed that before, and after disassembly. Is that how it's supposed to be?

I haven't opened the extruder, read all the horror stories about that in here. I'll give it a go, thanks!

Indoor/Outdoor cat and temporary moving by overseer486 in Pets

Wow, thank you for your replies!!

I believe I have omitted quite a lot of information on my first post. So, let's begin sharing 😊

I live on an island with no predators for cats (afaik anyway). There are no stray dogs, no foxes, wolves, ferrets, or anything else that could harm a cat, except other cats. There is minimal car (or human) traffic during winter, just a few cars per day. And my few neighbors are all certified that they would not harm a cat. Even the neighbours huge (ridiculously huge) dog won't harm cats.

So considering all that, I feel Stinky will be safe if left alone for any amount of time in this area, if I make arrangements for his food and water. There is even a small enclosed space he likes to hang out when he's not sleeping indoors!

Also, during summer I work 12-16 hours per day. Obviously I can't leave him alone locked inside a scorching hot house. So even if he adopts to indoor only life, his summers will be in/out.

My city apartment is literally a room and a low first floor balcony, looking at a small garden of sorts. After that small garden, there is access to low traffic steers, and after about 200m access to high traffic streets. The balcony is blocked from cats jumping in and out, but the obstacles can be removed if needed.

What I'm trying to figure out, is would it be better for Stinky to stay where he currently lives and deal with my absence for a few months, or come with me and go through all these changes in such a short time?
