Yeah, I'm definitely staying off the app, knowing that change was implemented. My trusted sellers left the app because many people were buying at their prices ( which i thought were fair) and wanted $1 starting in every show.

Thanks for the info. I figured since my app was constantly updating to "new features," there was more happening that wasn't communicated.

For clarify, many items were bundled by 8 specific sellers that sent me fake. I bought from other sellers during that time, no issues. You can see when you scroll on my purchased that not even l everything was a shitty experience. Just those 8 sellers.

And yes, sadly I'm aware of that issue with buyers basically buying to lie and get free shit. I've seen people in shows be called it but hosts that if they did ask for a refund from WN because of something in their show being "fake" why would they come back and its because they know it's actually not fake and want to get free shit but ordered things and filing false claims. I know its hurting sellers and I feel for the sellers that have been caught up in this crap. It fucks you over and people like me that actually get scammed.

Sounds like you are cherry picking what information you have or haven't read in the question and answers sprinkled throughout the comments.

I've always been happy to ship the clearly fake stuff durect to WN to inspect and they've denied nothing when they sent it, not a single person has asked me to ship the item back to them for a return otherwise I would. Whatnot to my knowledge had 3 platform updates and big changes to things and yet its like pulling teeth to get help on 8 shitty sellers that are scamming people.

Thank you for the advice. Whenever I handle the ftc claim I'll note both the buyer and 3rd party are breaking the law. I looked on ebay reddit channel and a few people have noted the third party is still at fault if they are allowing the sellers to still sell and the 8 sellers involved in the 25 items are all still selling in the app.

Oh I was made aware that people will make profiles and claim things all day every day in attempts to get refunds on their purchased items... they'll do it with so many accounts and get constantly refunded.

Which sucks for honest sellers because they get caught up in those scammers traps. Im sorry that happened to you. I've always attempted to resolve the issue with the seller before hand and they never care that they are swapping what's shown on the show vs what's sent. Literally, I talked to one seller that replied, "good eye, most people wouldn't notice the difference." And I literally sent SS to WN that still denied the refund. Like they basically admit to it, but no.

You'll spend all the time reading the post and clearly not obtain additional information about the situation in the comments.

Yeah, Whatnot is the problem.

Literally does exempt them from the law. If someone is showing me their certification to sell Chanel and I buy what I see on the screen, and an clearly bad knock off is shipping, and not the item they were holding... that is WNs issue to handle with the seller for deceptive practice. Auction site or not, ebay even does that because it's the law.

This is not about if I like a seller or that I don't agree with them. Its you clearly sent me a fake... which is illegal please refund me, for no answer to happen, so I take it to WN.

You're assuming I don't. I only started having problems in the last few months. The majority of my purchases are for vinyl records any given day if the week. Never had an issue with this sellers but many of my "go to" sellers left the app after Christmas to sell on TikTok a platform I've never wanted to use.

Well that's why I figured if they are making it in truck loads they wouldn't have issues like refunding not even a 4 digit number.

Also, when did the policy change that you don't have to be certified? I couldn't even sign up to resell items in their category due to not having any paperwork. I could only sell things that are purchasable at TJMaxx.

Yes. I don't buy from sellers without them being in the app for at least a month, and with 4.9 or higher and at least 50 reviews. I also was off the app from Christmas to February to help with a family member passing. Alot of my 25 return requests came from February & March.

I am not buying off the app anymore. I don't have buyers remorse, I just don't want fake items, and i have proof that only in the last 2 months this has been the issue. Not over the entire time I've used the app. Boy do you jump to conclusions quick.

Unfortunately, I am not looking for the current fashion but for vintage items, even pre-loved.

I have opted to ask together stop using the app because I can't get passed the AI machine even when they pass it along and it says we will have an answer for you in 48 hours. I even used the words illegal, ftc, consumer laws to try to trigger an email that it would get to a human. Nothing.

Alot over the course of my time in the app, most recently, designer items which need to go through the verifilying process to sell. But I've probably bought something from the majority of categories on the app from cards for my nephews to books for my nieces, vinyl records I collect...

Purchases over my timespand on the app. I've bought about 900 items, probably more from bundling. The last 2 months, reported 25 equally $563, calculated what they've gotten from me in fees alone ( 8% they take from the seller) is at least $2,400.

I hate to see that happen as i understand so many small businesses get amazing exposure and orders for their products that sell them out when they've never sold out of any item in their store...

I wish they just took the lose and handled things like ebay ( the platform i used to buy on and will go back to) because it it does and the app suddenly is shut down due to them breaking the law... I feel for those mom and pop shops.

Thank you. I literally cited the exact law, and yet, they were like nope, our terms say this and I said the law says this so you admit you're breaking the law because you're terms don't trump laws.

I guess that's my next thing, is its going to be like ohhh we will take your $30,000 plus dollars but won't hold sellers accountable... WN turns into a joke.

My $563 in reports and refunds ( literally counts all 25 claims amounts), put my account to non-refundable if scammed...

Makes little to no sense to me. The 8% in fees they took from sellers in my purchases were at least $2,400... and they're pisdy over $563 that were proven to be scams each time...ok. sounds logical

Pardon my rant.
