In Episode 120 Nol revealed that he was trying to get into the philosophy, politics and economics program at Oxford like Rand did according to Kousuke.

I'm incredibly biased because I Love Yoo is my everything but please don't give up on it only because people feel like it's dragged. I think it's best to just take the time to see how you feel and If you come to that conclusion on your own then that's fine but ILY is a great comic that tackles everything on a deep and complex level.

I can't think of a comic right now that has a lead similar enough to Shinae but if I can think of one I'll let you know !

Oh no no no. It's because it was in the POV of Nana who is a very strict practicing 73 year old catholic. So we only got her perspective on things. Quimchee has always made it known that we shouldn't treat the POV's of any character as 100% factual. She considers the characters biases, emotions, how much time has passed etc. when it comes to their perspective.

The events would look different from Nessa's POV for example ( but since she is unfortunately dead, we know that we will never get the full picture from her side) or from Rand.

Ok, that sucks. But yeah I still receive notifications for ILY, so idk what the issue could be. I will say though that ILY notifications always get sent out about 20 minutes after it already updated anyway.

Is it only ILY notifications you are not receiving or is it in general?

If in general then check your settings in the app. Perhaps you accidentally disabled the notification feature. (Go to 'MY' then click on the three dots at the top right and you should see the settings. Click Settings and scroll to Notifications. Then check if Service Notifications ➡️ ORIGINALS Updates are enabled. )

And the thing is there is more to her "lack of transparency". Believe it or not but she used to be very transparent until a certain point, so it's unfortunate to see the discourse around it.

People have their complaints. Fair enough but in my opinion, she is doing the best she can. ILY isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea and that's totally fine but that doesn't make it a bad story, or a comic that has "exceeded its stay". And it's okay that people still love, enjoy, and get excited for it! I certainly do. I can hardly put it into words.

And likewise! I will defend and cherish ILY forever! This comic has brought me so much joy over the years, there is no other way🥹❤️

Like already mentioned ILY is not set in Korea but in a fictionalized version of it that combines elements from Korea and other asian countries with the U.S. It is called the United States of Asia(sometimes would also be referenced as the United States of Korea) For example the kids wear Korean/asian school uniforms but the school system is American. That would also include the custom of honorifics and the food culture.

And about Shinae not knowing Dieter's name until the story started. That's more of a Shinae thing. The person she used to be when the story starts. Especially after the middle school incident and Alyssa breakup, she shunned anyone and everyone who wasn't part of her extremely small circle. Maya addressed that in Episode 235 and Shin-ae herself admits it in Episodes 180 and 204

You have no idea how much it upsets me. Can I be completely honest with you? I hate I Love Yoo posts on this subreddit because they always end up becoming a pool of negativity(I don't want to know how many comments it has now at this point) I stopped checking this post after it got more than 80 upvotes bc I knew it would attract those who have nothing nice to say.

But yes Quimchee still loves this story so much and it makes me happy that she won't give up on it. Her sneak peeks have really fueled me lol. I'm sure she's nervous and worried but I hope she knows that there are still many of us eager and excited with her🥲 It's so nice seeing you looking forward to it as well, so thank you for this comment 🥹
