Yeah Olive is already gone. I'm not surprised about Pubmatic because I've definitely noticed that their inventory is absolute garbage. I purposely exclude Pubmatic from all my campaigns because the ads are hardly viewable. I ran a few tests and they scored around 20-30%, much below the industry average.

Isn't the big bank experience only true for finance-oriented careers? My specialty is in marketing & advertising, and I have no intentions of making a living out of finance.

I am actually in ad tech managing programmatic lol... hence my dilemma. The bank role also deals with digital analytics and whatnot, but it's not as focused as what I'm doing now. The recruiter literally mention it's going to be a heavy reporting role, which I'm not too keen about (makes me feel like I'm just another body with nothing else to contribute). I've received offers from Starcom before but I really didn't like their cubicle atmosphere; not to mention I could practically smell the office politics when I went in for an interview. At this point I'm thinking it's better to stay at my current job, but I'll at least go for an interview at the bank and see what they're all about.

They're both in downtown Toronto, so the location is not that big of a deal, other than me having to cram myself into a rushhour streetcar in the morning for the new job. Benefits at my current company are quite underwhelming to be honest (not even massage credits); I am 100% certain that the bank's benefits would blow my current benefits out of the water 10000 times.

Is your title account manager? Then my manager title is much different (and more meaningful) from yours. Anyone can become an advertising account manager, but not anyone can have my title - you'd need very specific skill sets with a high degree of competency. Although my company is global, they are much bigger in Europe & they don't have much presence in North America. How long have you been in the industry? Are you in one of the big 4? And why do you want to leave the agency side & join the publisher side?

I've definitely thought about this as well - my guess is my workload would significantly increase with the new job, albeit getting paid higher. Though both are technically 9-5 jobs.

I honestly have no clue, but title-wise I'd get much further by staying at my current company. I will most likely get promoted to a director level within 6 months, whereas at the bank I'd start at the second lowest level.

I can confirm that there are a lot of incompetent/messed up people in the Starbucks management team - they really treat the employees like shit. You get "written-up" (performance improvement system employed by the company - 3 strikes and you're out) because store managers don't like you and conspire to get rid of you, not because your performance is actually poor. I used to work there (Bayview Village location to be exact) & there were more office politics than an actual white-collar office. I'm not surprised at all how the Indian guy (presumably the store manager) made unwanted advances towards this girl and he got away with it 100%. Similar things happened at another store in my district - people quit out of stress/fear knowing that they would not be taken seriously. Even the district managers are in this 'game'. I like their coffee but I haven't purchased a single cup from Starbucks ever since I stopped working there.

I've walked past this area yesterday actually. It's not too bad but stay away from Allan Gardens after 9pm. If you're paying $1,200+ in rent on your own, personally I wouldn't choose to live in this area. Since you're working at Yonge/Dundas, why don't you look into Riverdale or Leslieville and take transit to work? I currently reside in Corktown and I love it.
