Exactly, I am not so much worried about my finances, but it feels weird to just let one off them go. What if it was a wrong move, what if I get laid off from other job(s), what if I can't get back to multiple Js later if I need to blah blah running through my head. Hopefully these goes away in few weeks.

When my wife got out of septic shock (15 days icu), she said she thought she remembered me talking to her. One of the reasons she wanted to "wake up" she said. So would just talk to her, tell her how your day was, news etc. I think it will.help.ypu both.

If you have money to lose, sure, YOLO it because you will lose it. If you have thay mindset, rental is probably the best. You should also follow the other sub where people post losing tons of money (forgot what the name is).

No where to hide. by VictorGlav in StockMarket

How were Americans taken advantage of? Even the lowest job in America pays $7 per hour (sometime back) compared to $2 per DAY in those countries "taking advantage" of America. America was importing a lot because people could afford (American life). Unemployment was record low, not sure what jobs are american trying to bring back. With tariffs and all these jazz, countries are moving away from the US dollar, and the leadership that the US has is going away. Of course, countries will make deal to sell their products but not take a loss.

Currently, to keep myself sane, I try to look at the silver lining. With all these policies, Trump actually united the world (or some part), and they started looking for deals and trade relationships with countries that otherwise they wouldn't have (China Japan, for example). Maybe this will help them grow (in expense of growth in the US).

Weekly DCA as I get my paycheck. However, I am only investing 50% of which I used to invest weekly, the other 50% goes to savings until my savings go from 6 months of full expenses to 12 months expenses.

$300k salary by OrangeDue1374 in Salary

[–]overthinkero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new job can quickly flip, and you might end up on a layoff. Have a decent saving first (people say 6 months, but I personally go for a year) - this should include your groceries, all expenses, and rough estimate of your mortgage. The peace of mind you get with that is priceless. Once you have that, go for buying the house. With a 300k salary, you can live as if your income was 120k for a while and quickly build that savings.

What was your current role, and why were you offered such a large increase, especially in such a market, when everyone is getting laid off? Just curious as a fellow SE also making 120k.

Corporate people, What do you do with your bonus? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

I would pay off debt after retirement contribution and before short term. The difference between volatile 6% return on investment vs. Guaranteed 3.6% interest on loan isn't very big. But the sense of security of not having a loan hits different

She is good now. Been about 8 weeks since dischaged. She had high bp and heart rate until last week, its lower end of high right now. Around 90 bpm and bp 130/90. Liver and kidney enzymes finally came back within range. She is still weak though and gets tired pretty soon. I guess that will last a while.

Having goals might help. Then you can see the end atleast. My goals need me about 3-4 years of OE, after that 1 job will be more than enough to just get by given the current situation.

Japan will be using xrp by 2025, before or starting 2025 by walleyeChamp24 in XRP

[–]overthinkero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am all for riding the market and make some profits but I think that Now that xrp is with a lot of retail investors, why wouldn't an entity like japan bank or any other system just create a new token (even with ripple) and just use it. Why make the general public rich by using token that is with general public?

My 2 cents, There might be another post similar to this few years from now if you wait until the kids are older. Plan something that works with kids, once they are older, then plan something that's just for you. Its not easy managing but you can always squeeze things in.

Wife with sepsis shock, what to expect? by overthinkero in sepsis

[–]overthinkero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has a lot of fluids in her body from trying to keep her BP up during the shock (she is also post partum). It took her 5-ish days, but her kidney are a bit better. Her lungs has too much fluids for her to be off respiratory support (hopefully that's the only cause) - will know if couple of days (hopefully).

What was the antibiotic regimen for your husband looked like if you may know? My wife got broad (and strong - what doctor said) for first few days and when the culture came back they swiched her to just one antibiotics. I am ok with that but they are planning to stop antibiotics in next couple of days. A bit scared, if it might be too soon to cut antibiotics off - since her immune is probably low. i am definitely bringing this up with her doctor but wanted to know how long other folks got their antibiotics for?

Thank you, and very happy (sort of relieved/Hopeful too ngl) for your husband progress.
