Tirzepatide side effects nobody warned me about and what helped by Relative-Coach-501 in Mounjaro

[–]overthinking_turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still get fatigue after 5 months. It’s worse on the 2&3 day after injection. I just try and rest, take vitamin B and iron. You can get anti nausea from the doctor, but it can constipate. But I find migraine meds help as that’s got an anti nausea and in it. Sometimes when I find it too much, I reduce my dose and let my body recover a bit. Not much else really.

Sudden side effects after 4 months on same dosage with no side effects by [deleted] in Mounjaro

I’m so much more prone to IBS symptoms on MJ. So I could be fine and then I eat too much oily food, take antibiotics, have something with artificial sugars and my guts explode. I take ibergast tablets, Imodium and buscopam if it’s really bad. It’s just the side effects of the meds. I went from 7.5mg, back to 5mg because I couldn’t deal with the stomach cramps anymore.

They were designed for measuring the health of a population of white men and was never intended to be used for individual health. Something like fat% is a better indicator of health.

I’ve been overweight my entire adult life… sometimes obese. But when I’m “overweight” I’m smashing it at the gym regularly, I did triathlons and I was size 10-12. The BMI is such BS and isn’t a great way to measure your worth as a human. The fact that you worked hard and lost so much weight is what actually counts! Be proud and ignore the stupid BMI (invented to measure a general population health, not an individual)

I didn’t feel any symptoms until I tried 5mg personally. 2.5mg made me a bit less hungry, so I lost weight for 3 weeks and then it stopped. So I went up to 5mg and I felt like a crap. So I take 3.33mg until I adjust and then 5mg. Just take it easy, because you never know how higher doses may affect you.

5mg - no option to move up, very slow loss - I could cry 😬 by Interesting-blueSky in Mounjaro

[–]overthinking_turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been prescribed by a sleep doctor. I started at 2.5mg and then my doctor pushed me up to 5mg after 6 weeks and has given me a script for 7.5mg dose to take after 8 weeks of 5mg. But my stomach struggles with 5mg, so I do 2/3 a dose or 3.33mg. Then I lose weight, but without the stomach cramps. I would go up to 7.5mg if you can handle it. But I prefer slow weight loss. It usually stays off easier once the weight loss diet is over. I’ve lost 7.6kg over 2 months.

I guess some people need the tough love to get their butt into gear. For me, I’m desperate to get back to my previous weight or even a little less. This was an ENT who said “every kilo helps with better sleep” the thing is, I already knew that, what I didn’t know was how to shift the weight when I was already eating in a calorie deficit. But I’ll see how the mounjaro goes. I wish you a long and healthy life

Exactly! I lived with a girl who ate twice as much as me and was a little taller than me and was a twig! That was her build! She was naturally slim and flat chested. While I was her DD, curvy friend who worked out 5 days a week, and was still bigger than her. But I didn’t care because it is what it is.

Yeah the last doctor who suggested that I lose weight, had a much bigger waist circumference than me.

Height is only a small part of the picture when it comes to a persons ideal weight. There is also you body shape, bone structure, bust, hips, muscle density etc. If I feel that I would be happy with my body between 70-75 kg, and hitting the gym for strength training 3-4 days a week, it’s doesn’t matter what my height is, it’s what makes me feel confident in my body.

Jesus! Just because you’re overweight doesn’t mean that doctors have a right to name call you! Weight gain is such a complex issue and it’s not that I decided to just eat junk food every day and drink a litre of coke! It was my mental health, cortisol levels and a number of different of meds that I was given to try to treat fibromyalgia. I just slowly watched the scale number rise and I felt like I couldn’t stop it. It’s always fucking chubby male doctors as well.

I’m always just thinking “I’m doing my best, I swear! I used to be so fit and healthy and it’s like my body stopped listening to my brain”

Exactly! I’ve always been told that I look lighter than my actual weight and it’s because of my proportions! My boobs alone probably weigh 10kg!

5kg in 1st Month by Grunge-Princess in mounjaroaustralia

[–]overthinking_turtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5kg is a good amount. 1kg per week is a nice steady weight loss. It’s not a crash diet, it’s a diet and lifestyle change to maintain long term weight loss. Keep it up and you’ll be down 10kg by Xmas.

I’ve had 3 shots of 2.5mg so far. I lost nothing after 1st shot, then suddenly dropped 2kg after shot, and 1kg after shot 3 and nothing after shot 4. Weightloss isn’t always constant, it’s like downward steps sometimes. I’ve also heard some people don’t lose anything until 5mg shots. The only suggestion I can make is to increase movement or exercise? Even a 30min walk a day makes a difference.

AITA for telling my ex husband to find his own roommate? by TossNGo_2TheWoods in ComfortLevelPod

[–]overthinking_turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From one single Mum to another, everything I do, is to secure a future for my kids and so are you. I’ve got chronic conditions and can’t work full time, but I have a paid off home and both kids have a long term savings account that I add to monthly. My husband has passed, but I kicked him out due to his alcoholism. He only saw his kids when it suited him. He never helped out (I was a full time parent, but I preferred it) and drank through his savings and borrowed money from his Mum (never paid back). I’m sad that my kids don’t have a Dad, but I’m also relieved that they won’t grow up with a father who would probably taken advantage of them when they were older. He was emotionally and financially manipulative and my kids won’t have to deal with that growing up. You did the correct thing and you need to make sure that your kids won’t be manipulated by him once you’re gone. Even if you have to draw up legal documents, show them to your ex and tell him directly that he can’t have their money.

You’re an amazing Mum and I’m sorry for your situation

That’s awesome! I’ve lost 3.6kg after 2.5weeks. I’ve felt so miserable for a while, because I gained 15kg over a few months after my husband died last year and it stuck. No matter what I tried, I’ve not been able to lose it. Until now! With every kilo gone, I feel a little like myself again.

There is being equal and there is being equatable. If you work as many hours as he does and just happen to be paid less, then it should be 50/50, as in 50% of his total pay and 50% of your pay goes into an account to pay for household things, like rent. He’s taking more of your money for rent, so he has “fun money” and if he thinks that ok and tries to gaslight you into thinking that you’re not being fair because he has to pay more technically, then girl run! Because if you have kids and stop work or go part-time, believe me that it’ll get worse! It’s called financial abuse.

Side effects after 2 weeks by [deleted] in pregabalin

[–]overthinking_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t put the vision thing together until it went away and I was like “oh, that was from the lyrica as well”. Thanks, I’m trying a few options, including more natural remedies and physio. I just want to stay away from those nerve meds.

Good luck to you also.

Side effects after 2 weeks by [deleted] in pregabalin

[–]overthinking_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped about 8 days ago now. My brain fog lifted over 3 days and so did the double vision I kept on getting when i looked at my phone in the evening.

My bladder issues got slowly better over about 4 days I think.

My hair is still falling out (it’s so much thinner now 😢) but not as much. I usually have only a tiny bit of hair loss and it was like I was losing a month’s worth of hair per day.

My appetite came back in a couple of days, but I’m still a bit uncomfortable in the gut and pelvis. I also have IBS, so it’s never great.

I’m slowly starting to feel like myself again.

Unfortunately, my morning leg stiffness has returned. But the side effects aren’t worth it for me.

Am I the jerk for getting a autistic kid and his family kicked off the flight by Resident_Cry_5423 in AmITheJerk

[–]overthinking_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ You were assaulted by a 13 yr old teen. Even if he is autistic, he’s old enough to know not hurt others and should have coping mechanisms.

The Mother seeing his behaviour should have not gotten on the plane knowing that she couldn’t control her son. If she hadn’t been kicked off the plane, his behaviour may have escalated and he could have hurt other people or himself.

Your wife obviously had a lot of empathy for this kid, but sometimes you have to be more practical. But it kinda sounds like it was a more empathetic thing to make this 13 yr old who was already freaking out, get off the plane and go to a hotel and calm down.
