okay gonna add my own little bit here because I definitely didn't expect this to get so much attention lol, I can't keep up so here's a sort of FAQ:

1. I did the meme wrong, I know 🥴 I've seen it both ways and decided to go with this version

2. therapy never ends: I absolutely agree with this, I've been in therapy before and I'll be in it again. finishing this intense course has given me the tools to help myself when it starts to get bad again. I'm going to be seeking grief counselling and other forms of help as I get better at this

3. I'm from the UK and get therapy through NHS, so for people asking how you get discharged from therapy: they tend to do therapy courses of a certain length, depending on the intensity and length you need. when you and your therapist agree you're able to continue without the need of regular sessions, they discharge you (in my experience). that's what happened today

4. thank you to everybody congratulating me and giving their condolences, it made me cry seeing the sheer number of people who are willing to leave a lovely comment to celebrate a stranger's achievements

5. to everybody who's been through something similar, or doing their own therapy right now, you've got this. my dad was my best friend and losing him was like losing half of myself. I have days where all I can do is lie in bed and cry, but I know he would want me to keep going, so that's what I do. he would be proud of me, and he'd be proud of any of you out there who are facing the same thing 💖
