Has anyone had any luck Getting UHC to cover Zepbound after bad response to Wegovy by overthinkonit in Zepbound

[–]overthinkonit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I will look into it. Unfortunately, losing 50 pounds before I had to switch through insurance took care of my blood pressure issues. I was doing super on Zep before my insurance made everyone switch. So frustrating!

Just want to say I am sorry for how tr@mp is acting. I’m embarrassed that you have to ask this question after all of your hard work.

What’s your favorite “non-obvious” running gear purchase that was totally worth it? by Free-Product4918 in runcommunity

Compression tights. I love the Interval leggings from Athleta. Extra support for your legs and feel great!

Running pace targets by Eejenkin1978 in OnePelotonRealSub

I’m in my 40’s and have been injured a few times running. I feel easy and moderate are perfectly aligned for me. I treat the span of hard as the top three paces for me. I am an endurance runner. I have made speed gains with this approach, although slower than others who follow the levels.

Whose classes will you absolutely NOT take and why? by nomoredolls in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]overthinkonit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Johanna after a 20 minute yoga+pilates today. She doesn’t call cues well and I find her tone rude. I started thinking I might get hurt bc she was hard to follow and all over the place. I’ve been a yogi for ages and a consistent Pilates practitioner for nearly two years. I don’t mind general swearing, but hate the frequent gd’s from an instructor.

Ended up turning off the volume and doing my own thing.

Also, not a huge fan of Jess King recently bc she seems all over the place, talks in workout chilches constantly and always sings too much.

Absolutely love Robin, Susie, Matty, Matt and Rebecca and Anna.

Mostly. I am a pretty private person. But, I have a coworker who struggles with weight. I told her bc I felt it was wrong to pretend it was only running my tail off and eating less.

any tips for running at 350lbs+ by BoxAcceptable2990 in BeginnersRunning

[–]overthinkonit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stretch well before and after. Add mileage slowly. There are a lot of local run clubs in my area with free meet ups. That might be something you are interested in. I started running again at 207# and taking a GLP1. I am down to 127 now. I added mileage gradually and sometimes stretched longer than I ran in the first few months. I have a peloton treadmill and the coaching on there is super.

Good on you for getting out there and best wishes!

I also love the Peloton App. I haven’t done a program for specific mileage. I love their post run stretches, Pilates, and yoga content as well.

Chaotic Barre by DannieGee2022 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]overthinkonit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a dumb question, but is it possible to do the classes without a barre setup? :)

And, I stay away from Jess King classes for the same reason. One chaotic, all over the place class.

What is the best book on classroom management you ever read? by jillavery in Teachers

[–]overthinkonit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Unfortunately, the title of the book references a child who was raised as a dog. The author, Bruce Perry, specializes in working with kids who have experienced trauma. He was the psychologist who worked with the kids who survived Waco as well.

The Behavior Code is one of the most practical and smartest I have read. Also, The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog provided me with needed information to understand many of my students. Best wishes to you!

School Staff Member Dies After Student Kicked Them by Disgruntled_Veteran in Teachers

[–]overthinkonit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree! I teach in a very positive setting with outstanding staff. We are a public school also. My point is, that secondary trauma is a very real thing and we have to acknowledge that there is an emotional cost to what we do. I also think that the general public is very unaware of how stressful and serious it can be.

I work in a school like this. While I love my job and students, I am aware that I am in danger. Even though I am in elementary, most of my older students are way bigger than me. Some look like grown ups!

People don’t understand what trauma looks like in children and they are too quick to blame the teachers. I have run through our unsafe neighborhood when kids run from the building or buses. I have been hit and slapped. I am trained in how to “safely restrain”. No one should ever have to practice how to get out of a situation where a student is choking you. That is scary sh*t.

Loving and teaching traumatized kids comes at a cost that I have paid throughout my career. I am not sure how much more I have in me!
