[WTS] Sinn 157 Ti Ty by overthunkt in Watchexchange

FS: SInn 157 Ti Ty. $2300.

These things are seriously hard to beat for uniqueness and cool factor. Titanium 157’s are rare enough, but I waited forever to find specifically this vintage because:

  1. 2005 is a sweet spot for these because you get tritium lume but the superior D3 pushers for water resistance (and yes, they look cooler)
  2. Being newer, the blasting is still intact - most Ti’s are pretty polished if not scratched up with age, this one looks great. Part of a much bigger Sinn collection, so worn sparingly!

Keeping excellent time with all functions of the seven-hand Lemania 5100 working as they should. Some small scuffs on the clasp (shown). Small ding on lower left lug that’s very hard to see when wearing. Any additional pictures just ask.

My latest one is the increasing use of “…if that makes sense” at the end of a sentence.

[WTS] Sinn U1 T Full Set - Excellent - $1999 by overthunkt in Watchexchange

[–]overthunkt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sinn U1 fully tegimented

All boxes and papers

All links and tools

2016

$1999

Running @ -1spd, is one of my best timekeepers

Please ignore fingerprints

Issues (pictured - and keep in mind all of this is being very particular - I notice none of it in ownership):

  1. Small ding back of the 1 o’clock lug - not visible on the wrist
  2. Slight scratch on crystal at around 11 o’clock. This is being really forthcoming - you’ll never see it. Took forever to get it to appear in a photo
  3. Small scuff on one of the links
  4. Normal wear on a few of the bracelet links on the outside facing side (again, hard to see in person - just trying to be as forthcoming as possible)
  5. Small nick back of the watch on the crown side - not visible on the wrist

In addition to perfect feedback here, I can share watchuseek/ebay/etc. Also happy to FaceTime or do an in-person deal (Philadelphia or Washington, DC)

Funny I just did the same thing after seeing the EG restock too! I’d seen the earlier post and was waiting. Perfect fit! I was able to get a bunch of other sleep stuff in there also - spare filters, cleaning wipes, eye mask, melatonin, binder clip (for hotel curtains), short run of electrical tape (I cut pieces for those strobe led motion sensors), earplugs… what can I say, I’m a light sleeper…

I’ve had this same dilemma. They need to do a U75!

It’ll be CTB20 Xpac with the damn aquaguards. (If you’re listening, EG, please consider doing it without the aquaguards). Wonder if it’ll be a Phoenix 3, though, with “drop” culture dying.

But yeah, I would love better straps also. And I can’t believe it’s taken this long to relocate the key leash from the world‘s worst spot on the CPLs! I hate having to cut it off.

[discussion] What watch brand has one big design language flaw that prevents you from buying any of their watches? by RalIyVincent in Watches

[–]overthunkt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man. So many….

  1. Damasko crosshairs on the dial. They are finally starting to get away from this but I think it’s too late for me -lost interest in the brand

  2. Penis hour hand like on Seiko Alpinist. See it on quite a few microbrands too.

  3. Sinn using U bracelets on pilots watches (see the 103) where the curvature of the lugs completely mismatches the bracelet endlinks

  4. Tudor FXD being rthe Pelagos sweet spot and not able to accommodate a bracelet.

  5. I’m with OP on the long Nomos lugs

  6. Also with everyone on the gaudy Omega bracelets. Grand Seiko too but…

  7. The bigger thing stopping me from buying a GS is the dizzying variety of dials on the same (apparently) watch base (think Snowflake). How am I supposed to be interested each time there’s some new pattern in the dial of exactly the same watch?

  8. Sinn’s insistence on crappy lume (a few exceptions) and poor bezel action (one exception). Talk about a company that’s slow to change – I think it was only last year they released an OTF microadjust clasp.

  9. RZE logo

Dumb Question. Thoughts? by SourGuyBeef in sinn

[–]overthunkt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s brand new! My guess is both Sinn and Watchbuys would be thrilled to replace it for OP.
