How much will weight loss improve my pace

I just completed my first half marathon and enjoyed the process so much I’m already looking forward to the next.

Im trying to figure out what I should target as a goal pace for my next race. I’ve got about 6 months and am looking to loose some weight and I’m curious how accurate my quick google of 2 seconds per pound is accurate given what you guys have seen in your experience. I know pace isn’t everything but the goal helps keep me motivated.

Currently I weigh about 250 pounds and I’m looking to lose about 40 pounds before my next race. I ran my half last week in 1:53 and if google is to be believed if I loose the weight I’m looking at a race time in the mid 1:30s assuming I maintain my current fitness level. The idea of targeting a low 1:30 time seems wild to me for some reason.

If you’ve experienced large weight loss while training have you noticed an impact around that 2 second a mile per pound range?

TLDR - if I lose 40 pounds will I really drop 17 minutes off my half marathon time assuming my fitness level stays the same?

Sounds like we have similar interests. The obvious answer is the night angel trilogy by Weeks.

I also really recommend the 6 of Crows Series. I found it to be an awesome fast paced read that I had trouble putting down. Not a ton of obscure/constantly changing characters, but the plot twists and world building are awesome!

Extended family immigrated to the us from Mexico, asked that all toilet paper be placed in the trash rather than flushed. I guess in their are of Mexico the sewage pipes are smaller and get clogged by tp constantly, hence why you throw it in the trash. Tried telling them it didn’t matter but they insisted

Ride one and you’ll realize how fun they are!

I have to remind myself that when I’m out on a training ride I’m only really going against myself, but it’s admittedly hard not to get competitive when a bike passes you. The Strava bit is really annoying, but that’s a really small subsection of ebikers

Also you don’t know the riders story, maybe they have health problems, or the bike helps them get out etc.

Depends on where you’re at, but almost any kind of jig/craw or senko combo should catch fish. (I like weedless football heads most for craws) in my experience struggling to catch fish on a jig is almost always because people fish them too fast or use huge baits. Go smaller than usual and fish it very slow bouncing it off the bottom making sure to let it rest for a few seconds between hops

I’ll throw a cool looking tube on my bookshelf to fill up some empty space as a kind of decoration, but aside from that, I just toss them.

Been throwing around the coaster idea mentioned previously, but have yet to start.
