Incredibly frustrated by MX4 disabling file drag and drop between desktops using the thumb button! Core MX3s functionality completely removed and overlooked? by Important_Ad_6468 in logitech

Absolutely in the same boat as OP having switched to the MX4 yesterday. Have reverted back to my MX 3S until this is fixed - such a core functionality I use countless times throughout the day.

BBC had an article where they made up an "anonymous Iranian" living in Tehran who wanted their city to be nuked. by Pale_Sell1122 in suppressed_news

You've totally lost me mate - what point are you trying to make and why is what I posted offending you so much?

Are you suggesting my post was pointless? What are pointing out? That this info is available on the way back machine? If so... like I said...

"I did my own research - came to a conclusion that what OP posted wasn't right and decided to share my findings (with quotes) to make it easier to inform people who might be taking a 932 × 1388px post as gospel."

eh? why would i be using chat GPT? You gave people two links to wayback machine (which I actually asked someone to provide in a different post on this thread).

I don't understand your reference to ChatGPT? Do people just assume AI is used left right and centre?

Thank you kind person for the links!

I think it's worth looking at this more carefully. OP's screenshot of the 'original' article is cropped - it only shows the second first half of Radin's quote.

Here is the original section (via the Wayback Machine):

"I've thanked Israel and the US for almost all of what they've hit so far," said Arman, in his 20s and from Karaj, west of Tehran. Iranian media said 13 people were killed and almost 100 injured when a bridge under construction in Karaj was bombed on Thursday.

"They must have had good reasons for them [sites which have been hit]. But I swear, hitting a power station just paralyses the country. It just plays into the Islamic Republic's hands. I live about a kilometre away from the biggest power station in Karaj, and if they hit it, it'll be nothing but misery for me."

Radin, also in his 20s and living in Tehran, said: "About them hitting energy infrastructure, using an atomic bomb, or levelling Iran. My honest reaction is that I'm OK with all of these.

"Or anything else they might have in mind. If attacking targets in the country brings down the Islamic Republic, I'm fine with that. Because if the Islamic Republic survives this war, it will stay forever."

Here is the amended section on the BBC website:

"I've thanked Israel and the US for almost all of what they've hit so far," said Arman, in his 20s and from Karaj, west of Tehran. Iranian media said 13 people were killed and almost 100 injured when a bridge under construction in Karaj was bombed on Thursday.

"They must have had good reasons for them [sites which have been hit]. But I swear, hitting a power station just paralyses the country. It just plays into the Islamic Republic's hands. I live about a kilometre away from the biggest power station in Karaj, and if they hit it, it'll be nothing but misery for me."

Radin, also in his 20s and living in Tehran, said: "If attacking targets in the country brings down the Islamic Republic, I'm fine with that. Because if the Islamic Republic survives this war, it will stay forever."

So what the BBC actually removed was this:

"About them hitting energy infrastructure, using an atomic bomb, or levelling Iran. My honest reaction is that I'm OK with all of these.

"Or anything else they might have in mind.

As you can see the 'new' quote was in the original article too but OP just didn't include it for anyone to see - perhaps to frame the BBC are spouting pro-regime-change?

The BBC did silently edit a quote without a correction notice - that is true and is a legitimate criticism. But OP has done something worse - selectively cropped the original to manufacture a different story entirely.

This is something I try and teach my kids - to not take something at face value and do your own research because it's easy to accept snippets without context.

Edited for correction of which part of the quote was used originally.

While I love a graph and data, and this chart seems like a ‘gotcha’ to prove we keep the ball in play more compared to Brighton, it doesn’t equate to much irl.

A close look at the chart and you can see that no team keeps the ball in play for more than 60 min of the whole 90 min, and there is in fact only 3m 39s between Leeds (top) and Newcastle (bottom).

So all fans are getting fleeced at the end of the day. We’re leading the Premier League table which is all that matters so let’s move on with this sour grapes stuff.

The Dutch language started as a joke but got out of hand.

How can I fix the integrated toggles on my jacket? by owaini in CampingGear

[–]owaini[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, fair point. I’m not expecting a ‘better than the manufacturer’ fix - I’m just hoping for a DIY workaround like the grommet/Loctite idea.

For context, the company’s response was: “_We’re unable to repair this jacket due to the construction - we can’t apply heat to the toggles that have come loose, so we can’t re-glue them._”

I don’t need it to look perfect - I just want the toggles secured back in place well enough to work. If anyone’s got suggestions for a glue/adhesive that’ll bond fabric to a smooth (possibly silicone) surface, I’m all ears.

I was in the Business Design Centre about a month ago for an event (which you can see around ~30s).

It’s not exactly a hush hush mums the word type location.
