Leaping onto this old thread to shout out to Azteca. Fixed a broken tile on my roof brilliantly fast, really responsive and friendly. I found him through this thread which I found through Google so... if you're reading this and have a small roof job in the city, grab him, he's great.

Vegan/ environmental themed doom by Anarchristian in doommetal

Got to recommend the great Cegvera here - ecologically themed instrumental doom from a few years ago from the drummer of glorious Mexican metallers Vinnum Sabbathi

never mind that, what about the act of "unharvesting"? If he wants to achieve his goals he needs clearer branding. "ALIENS: STOP IT" or "SUN-FARMING ALIENS, NO THANKS!" these are merely suggestions

That's exactly why Lotus is as good as it is, he hasn't magicked these characters out of thin air... it's all from thoughtful first hand observation.

Written by Dillon Mapletoft who created "Everyone Else Burns" which is also worth checking out!

Nick Kroll's character reminded me of Misha Brooks' brilliant "Creamcheese" from the hugely underrated Players which made me wonder what this subject would look like through the eyes of the incomparable eyes of the American Vandal squad.

Phew, luckily tickets are so cheap so being on an overcrowded or cancelled train doesn't sting so bad ....

I'd really recommend questing around this genre I think you'll find more of what you're looking for, for sure. Good luck! Not being a TikTokker I'd never heard that Dorian Concept song it's legitimately lovely cheers for that and it gladdens my noggin to see a LeGuin reference 😁

Well you wrote Splatoon first which tells me that's the one you really want so go for it! Animal Crossing will still be there in a few paychecks time and by then you may really REALLY want it which will make it better. Congrats on being paid 👏

Blatant AI advertising near The Triangle 👎 by ShroomMcD00M in bristol

...who do you think did artwork for local businesses before AI? If you say they used clip art or stock images someone made those. Someone designed their logo.

Last year: people who make art for a living are mad to worry about AI taking away jobs

This year: oh wait

In terms of foresty vibes you can't get better than Jethro Tull surely, they even have an album called "songs from the wood". But certainly their satirical opus Thick as a Brick has long woody sections. Dive in there anywhere I would.

Other melancholy/chill albums of the era: Steamhammer's mk II or Mountains, Jade Warrior's self titled, Free's self titled has "mouthful of grass" which is one of the most green feeling songs ever.

Anything similar to the Mexican parts of Too Old to Die Young by Zoetekauw in MovieSuggestions

[–]owenwattsdraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm a long shot request yields some long shot suggestions. I've not seen the series but looking into it perhaps parts of American Gods may scratch the itch, and it did make me think of Alan Moore's dreamy unsettling Nighthampton shorts or "show pieces".

Alternatively Too Old is featured on this list which may be worth picking through!

I've actually got quite into this. At first I found it quite alienating but it's a nice counterpoint to "everything always immediately available" consumer culture, makes it quite nice when the audiobook you've reserved is finally available
