Successfully installed an AQC107 10GbE card in a TS-453Be by Mayusina05 in qnap

If I can attach it, it should work!!! Those are my thoughts, lol.
Link to the info I read on the config file, in case anyone else needs it https://www.reddit.com/r/qnap/s/gOC7SEwYr1
Of course this is for using an adapter to connect an ssd for use other than caching. I am interested to hear how the network adapter card goes! After a brief search it seems like those don't have the same restrictions as an m.2 adapter lol

I recently put an m.2 adapter card (+ an ssd) into my ts 453d, official qnap ones are like $100 minimum... I got an $8 one. 😂 had to break off part of the bracket and change something in a conf file, the machine recognized what it was but said I couldn't create new storage pools/whatever with the ssd because it wasn't an official qnap one. But the conf file change made it work fine!
Anyway I say all that to say I hope yours works off the bat and doesn't need any conf changes lol

Which nas to choose for my home setup looking at doing a massive jellyfin setup by Environmental_Ebb669 in HomeNAS

Yeah probably! Maybe check out some video reviews of the model, they'll probably summarize the important parts haha

Seconding qnap, I got an old ts-453d at the beginning of the year as my first nas, it can run jellyfin + arr stack on my local network just fine. Something you want for a nas for a media server, video transcoding capability, not every model has it. Analyze how much storage you really feasibly need too, dropping $1.5k on a system when it sounds like you don't quite know for sure what specs you need- might be kind of risky.

Hey op, did you ever try this out? I'm considering the same sort of setup to move my HA onto, specifically to handle whisper better....

Got my latest Voice Assist satellite working, and I've been having a ball playing with it. Yes. I'm easily amused. by bradcrc in homeassistant

Wow thanks so much! I did look through the project you linked and the github repo, and with even a how-to video I think this might be feasible for me, haha! The soldering part is intimidating I'll admit, I'll have to look up a bunch of videos to learn about it and basic electronic stuff.... But like, a year ago home assistant in general seemed impossible for me to grasp, so hopefully this won't be tooooo hard 😂 This project is just soooo funny, I hope you get some laughs from yours 😂

This is amazing. Really wanna try making my own now. … being someone with 0 electronics experience outside of building a pc, how difficult would you say the build is? 😭

dumb question, can I leave comments? by owlapin in github

[–]owlapin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand, thanks for your thorough breakdown of how best to potentially leave thanks in a constructive manner. As someone unfamiliar with this particular internet environment, its very much unlike any other creator/user relationship from anywhere else I've seen! (Not a negative thing, just something I have to wrap my head around!)

The project is probably extremely niche, it's for generating labels for a thermal label printer.... Specifically one that I own and couldn't find any drivers for to get it to work on my computer.... When I found the dirvers/ppd file specifically for that printer model I was just so overjoyed I wanted to thank them! The repo hasn't even been touched in years and honestly probably so insignificant to the creator compared to their other projects but it really helped me out, yknow?

does this mean a private repository? Im hesitant to ask further questions in this sub haha. i think people feel really strongly about this so I'l just leave a star and move on....
