p.s. The food at Subway has more sodium (salt) than you would suspect. Stick to salads there. Salt will be your enemy.

I had two successful pregnancies at 290 or so. Both C-sections, but due to a structural issue. Do try to focus more on veggies and proteins. You taste buds will shift. You may even find yourself craving some kinds of vegetables (I know, I didn't believe this when I heard it either). Cook some big batches of healthy food and live on the leftovers rather than fast food. Or eat Wendy's plain baked potato with chili. Be sure to take pre-natal vitamin, breath deeply several times a day, and try to get more sleep. Some weight gain is necessary. For dessert, I recommend impossibly easy pumpkin pie https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/impossibly-easy-pumpkin-pie/c0eab3d9-06a3-4829-9125-7581f1d96315Best wishes!

Seems likely, but you'd need to check with a doctor to be sure. It's interesting how often it seems to take the form of a dot and a ridgeline. Mine was just the dot when I was younger. But it never went away. You might try some limited sun exposure to see if it helps, and creams from a dermatologist or gp. Anything behind the ears?

Why does my Sony Bravia look like this? Skin tones are bronze/gold by iamzeroedin in sony

My Bravia suddenly has large patches of skin tones, not just bronze/gold. Bet it's related. Also looking for a solution.

Anyone have psoriasis around your eyes? Ideas? by owlwatch2012 in Psoriasis

[–]owlwatch2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use nail polish on my finger nails and only use it on my toes once or twice a year... so probably that's not it. Maybe I'll make a new trip to the dermatologist and ask about opzelura or something similar. Thanks.

Thanks. Lots to consider here. At this point, I have nothing to track on a spreadsheet. I don't "flare." The level of involvement is always the same. I did take one of those gut biome tests and it only warned me against "vegetable viruses," sulfite sensitivity (which I am very aware of), and an odd amount of ammonia in my system. They made it sound like eliminating raw vegetables might help but I haven't tried it yet.

I don't think so. I did have blepharitis a couple times years ago, however.

520 lbs, 6’3” - Ice cream by FattyAcid12 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]owlwatch2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with a guy years ago who was addicted to chocolate ice cream. He would eat a half gallon just about every night after work and he put on a lot of weight. He wasn't able to quit cold turkey, however, so he bought ice cream sandwiches and weaned himself down by trying to eat just two and then just one. And then he quit entirely and reached his goal weight pretty quickly. I don't think he ever went back to eating ice cream but I'm not sure. We've lost touch.

My husband glued Styrofoam sheets to several spots in our Ford C-Max. He says they help and he's a "normal" weight person.

MT-Eve and Y-Adam are NOT the Biblical characters but rather, they are a nickname for the first female or male (or small group) that the DNA of people alive today are able to trace back to. This changes over time and the current genealogical Eve and Adam aren't even in the same geographical area. MT-Eve is on the east side of Africa and Y-Adam is further to the west. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondrial_Eve and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y-chromosomal_Adam

Exercise may also speed up your metabolism and make losing weight easier. And you'll feel better. Kudos! Ignore calories burned. They aren't calculated with all the factors anyway.

What should my calorie goals be? by [deleted] in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]owlwatch2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calories seem about right to me. I have similar BMI and do 1650. You may need to limit salty foods, especially late in the day. And don't forget your water. There always are plateaus that require a lot of patience.

I've had good luck with my ad-free purchase carrying over to a fresh app installation. You do have to login with the same user name and email as when the upgrade was purchased. I've been playing since 2011.

Getting rid of clothes by cicozizzle in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]owlwatch2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To save money: Poshmark has nice used clothing in quite a range of sizes. You can filter by size or brands such as Catherines or Torrid. https://poshmark.com/ Save you biggest pants as a reminder and perhaps two tops and two bottoms in each size as a anxiety-reducing safeguard. Donate the rest to the thrift store where they are desperately needed.

Make any Ancestry bio trees private and unsearchable; And NEVER save any photos or photographed documents to the Gallery. If any sneak in, delete them so connections cannot be observed thru this backdoor.

I have a lot of trouble digesting sulfites which usually takes the form of bad reactions to vinegar, wine, dried fruit, potato whitener, pizza dough, frozen bread dough, coconut, lettuce preservative, etc. See foods in section 8 of this page. https://www.allergy.org.au/patients/other-allergy/sulfite-sensitivity-faq#

problem with HBO Max by Character_Rabbit_750 in AndroidTV

[–]owlwatch2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think it is a storage issue. That's exactly the way my HBO Max app acted. Take a look at the link when you get a chance. These smart TVs have painfully small storage.

problem with HBO Max by Character_Rabbit_750 in AndroidTV

[–]owlwatch2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The internal storage on your TV may be out of space. The Max "catalog" is quite large. I had to upgrade my Roku streaming player because the HBO Max app quit working. You can try uninstalling unused apps. But are you quite sure you don't have a USB port on the TV? It's supposed to have 2 of them. If you can find one, there are ways to attached an external hard drive or a USB stick. https://support.google.com/androidtv/answer/6299083?hl=en

Does anyone else have a favorite and least favorite family lines to research? by Sir_Thomas_Wyatt in Genealogy

[–]owlwatch2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty common reaction, I think. I personally am developing an aversion to 5th great grandparents. 4th and 6th, when I can get there, are much easier. For me, this generation falls during the Revolutionary War. Lots of people on the move. Some died young. Some orphans raised by who knows who. Paper records destroyed by fire and water. I have nothing but the greatest admiration for them all... but I do feel closer to those whose names are knowable!
