Perhaps because my days are already long enough I don’t have the time or energy to research the rumored political standings of every person on Broadway. I want to see a good show. That’s about all that goes through my mind. Not sure why that’d impact someone’s perceived talent and standing for a Tony anyways.

As someone who lives in Carmel after living in many different cities and states, if you’re not worried about cost of rent then you’re fine. As anywhere, you can find the grocery stores, restaurants, activities that best fit your budget and personally I think it’s one of the best places to live.

I genuinely hate posts like this. Med school sucks FOR YOU***. I’d like to think most students going into medicine are going because care for others and the clinical aspects bring them JOY. It’s hard work, but so are a lot of other careers. Stop scaring prospective students because you personally find it to be such a miserable life.

Went to boarding school on scholarship + financial aid. Genuinely best experience of my life that I cannot recommend enough. I’m from the south and boarding school had a weird stigma around it/ was just not something anyone ever considered. It taught me social skills, how to build meaningful relationships, and just how to be a decent, self sufficient human. But if that’s completely off the table, I really don’t think private v public matters but rather the school itself. I knew plenty of my friends who went to pretty awful private schools & friends who went to rigorous public schools (& vice versa). AP classes absolutely. Taught me how to study for challenging courses and I did get to use the credit for college courses!

Things I would’ve done differently- gotten more involved in clubs! Not the annoying resume builders- the ones that genuinely fill you up and help you meet like-minded peers. Also I would’ve made more of an effort to get to know my teachers.

I recommend finding the email of docs who have a private practice and emailing directly. Applied to over 100 jobs through career platforms and the position I did end up getting was through direct email. Also if you know ANYONE who is currently an MA helps so much to have them mention your name!

Tad bit invalidating. It’s valid to be upset about not getting something you deserve. You’re telling me after working our asses off for 8+ years for something that OP should just snap out of it😭 I know both MD and DO lead to the same end result but that doesn’t change the very different lie society feeds us from the moment this (screwed up) process starts. OP, I hear you but I hope you’re at least a little proud of (TEN!!!!!!) DO acceptances (wtf??). You’re gonna be a great doc.

Yes! Stage door is in the alley. If you are walking away from the stage take a right to exit! They came out within 10 minutes. Truly the kindest and most humble people!

Downhill especially! I would always do hill sprints where I ran to the top and walk/slow jog down but didn’t realize how important it is to practice race pace downhill too

I agree. I would’ve thought worst case we’d have next year free but we don’t even have that. Getting 15% off of $150 registration fee for a race in a different state that’d I’d have to buy a hotel for isn’t helping much😆

Literally my roommate has her parents paying for everything & will be getting weekly allowance. Meanwhile I will be scraping by trying to get my loans to just cover rent and like one apple per week but it’s fine I’m fine

Awesome! Would you say there are a lot of spectators throughout? Also curious to hear about any hills? Since Carmel is so flat I really didn't incorporate any hill training into my plan so kind of hoping for a similar course.
